Fuzzy Navel was one of the malt coolers in that line -- no wine in it.

My latest drink of choice is a Bud Light malt cooler named Mang-o-Rita. It comes in little 8-oz. cans and tastes like a margarita with added mango flavor. I buy it at Walmart and pour it into a fancy glass so it looks more sophisticated. If I have fresh mango, I float a slice or two in the glass.

Well, that sounds soooo wrong...but I will have to try it...lol..perhaps I will drink frrom my old Tom Collins glasses. This kitchen is so small and has so little storage...seriously, we never drink wine and I have a top shelf taken up with wine galsses and I've been eyeing them, thinking about getting rid of them....but OMG...what would people think if I have no wine glasses?....lol..

Hilarious! Over the years, I'm down to two of two different wine glasses. Those things break easily, but I do use one if I decide to have a glass with dinner. If I used a water glass, I'd only get three glasses form a bottle! Big Grin

That's o.k. I wouldn't have a place to keep them. The house has reached critical mass.

I keep adding rooms to the house instead. So far, I've added a sun porch on one side, a screened porch on the other side, and a solarium to connect the house to the garage, which has been converted into a library (I have no car). They all now provide space for furniture and paintings I didn't want to get rid of.

We've always done that in the past, now we're trying to make a conscious decision to live small / er. We've always built / remodeled and we're getting too old and tired of doing it...however...the South side of the house has room to add on a bit and Jer already added onto the garage. First we've been concerned with ripping out and repairing sub-flooring, new roof, new wiring, new plumbing...I've taken a good look at my age and am asking myself what I really need...mostly it's still to just keep gardening. Other things are just not so important. I have good friends, we're gardeners and I have rain...lol..what more do I need?

Image I took this week of California poppies, at Fremont Older OSP near Saratoga, CA. The dark streak going down the hill (from upper right to mid left) is some kind of purple wildflower which I haven't been able to identify. (I am not what you would call a wildflower expert. Whistling Even I can identify California poppies, though.)

The purple flowers look like spring vetch or winter vetch. They are very similar.

I don't drink beer (used to) or wine, so why did I move to the wine country? Do like almond champagne (but hate marzipan) & margarita's. Smiling

Sue, I didn't realize there was a Trader Joe in the Costco shopping center - that's my go to store.

Sue & Zuzu, drove through Sebastopol yesterday on the way to the rehab facility my Mom's been transferred to. What a charming town! Love all the houses/offices on Main Street. We'll definitely be doing some exploring there!

oh, yes...there you go...Margaritas! yes, do like those...

I do truly miss TJ's...I have to go 85 miles to hit one...miss my Lemon Verbena and Green Tea soaps. I have a very hard time not imposing on someone when I know they're going to be in ither Eureka or Medford...sigh....my neighbors were in Grant's Pass a week ago for a dental appointment and if she were someone I'd known for years, I would have begged her to go to TJ's and Panda Express and Quizno's. I haven't been to TJ's in a year and I need wild rice and almond meal...sigh...

Beautiful day here and, you know, sometimes when you get out to just even go to the Post Office and it's so pretty out that you don't want to go home? Jer went to the Post Office and I'm hoping he will come home and want to drive up the coast.....please, please, please...

Liz, next time you drive through Sebastopol, come on over. I'll send you my address in a tree-mail. If no one answers the doorbell, come out in back and yell "Marco." We'll do "Marco-Polo" until we find each other. Big Grin

Seen from the library parking lot in Brookings yesterday. The rhodies and azaleas, I have to see them at a distance to appreciate them, other wise they're just too bright and attention grabbing for me...they need a lot of green and large trees to complement them, I think...
