Hi Ursula,
Thank you!,..anyone can do it believe me,..when i look at my garden in the start of June i always think i have made a blunder,..its so bare and i can see the end and sides of the garden but as the month of June progresses the garden starts to fill in,..and upwards,..by the end of June you wont see the end or sides,..every year i end up gobsmaked at what nature produced,..its the reseeding and the hardy plants that do all the work and i just do my dead heading and pruning,..if you have the time check the video below,..its the full month of June starting with only small plants,..by the end of the month i have to walk sideways lol,..oh the video is almost 25 mins long,..keep it for a rainy day.

Philip, is that Molly in the first photograph?

Both gardens are gorgeous. I was lucky enough to vacation in Ireland in 1992 and all your images remind me of that trip. Smiling

Hi Debra,
Yes indeed that is Molly,..never without her when i am at home or out and about,..loves to go for a drive when its too wet to walkabout.

So you managed a trip here,..i hope it was enjoyable and of course not raining,..a tourist asked the barman does it always rain in Ireland?,..he replied not always,..sometimes its getting ready to rain Rolling my eyes.

I see you are on the suburbs of Dallas TX,..i never managed to get to Texas,..i made a good few visits to the States,..Ohio/Indiana/Utah/Michigan/California/managed a full day and overnight in Yellowstone Park,..the latter was fantastic sooooo big.

Light drizzle one day of the trip, but dry (if not always sunny) for the bulk of the time. Folks there commented on the unusual weather. Big Grin Driving trip: Limerick-Waterford-Cork-Tralee-Galway-and one other small town.

Love that pic with the yellow Verbascum- that sprinkling of primary colors is beautiful! We pronounce it "Kentucky" here, but it derives from the native American can-tuck-ee pronunciation.

Hi Folks,
Debra you certainly got around to some Counties though in the USA you would call them States,..you were very lucky with the weather knowing our reputation for rainy days,..with climate change we are getting warmer dry summers thankfully.

MJ,
Yes that first picture does make me head out into the garden,..many times i had just made coffee then as i was about to sit down to enjoy it i spotted something needing attention,..off i would go forgetting all about my coffee.

Neal,
I love the Native American pronunciation,..when i first heard it i kept saying it,..Can-tuck-ee.

Betty,
Yes its so interesting to see other countries gardens,..as well as other members in this forum,..you spot many plants growing there that you either have or would like to add to your own garden.

So I am in love. Your gardens are beautiful. What a real treat to see videos sprinkled in your thread.
I used to make vids with a program called "Smilebox" http://www.smilebox.com/testin...

Your topography is so different from mine. I do love the "secret garden" feel of your spaces.

Hi Jo Ann,
Thank you for liking my garden,..its a very full garden as you noticed with many tall plants,..in my minds eye that is how i pictured it when starting over 10 years ago,..my neighbor often passed the end of my garden but failed to see me Hurray! ,..which is great as she keeps me from working.

I noticed you use Smilebox in your garden Thread,..i did try it some time back but then stuck to YouTube to load my videos but to make them i use Microsoft Photo Story 3,..and its also free and quick when loading over 100 pictures.

Oh i am nearly finished viewing your Garden Thread,..soooo much to see and i love the Bear and Cub,..you have a great sense of humor and had me laughing many times,..loved the posts when you got the new computer and the wheelie thing to aid you walkabout,..my neighbor who is 87 uses one and like you she got lots of funny comments about brakes and engines and so forth.

your cat is a ripe old age,..mine are only 6 years at the oldest,..all seven cats Grumbling .

Hi Phillip, I thought your gardens were tropical when I first looked.. It must be all that rain that makes it look so lush. Is that a Yucca with the thick trunk?

Hi Sherry,..I don't blame you for thinking tropical as there are quite a lot of plants you would not expect to see growing here,..lots of rain indeed helps everything grow plus no set climate which is a bonus,..yes you are correct that is a Yucca aloifolia,..i have two one in a container,..very prickly point on the leaves and aptly called a Spanish Bayonet.

Yucca aloifolia.

Is that your Scotch Broom that's ablaze in the background.. That's an amazing display. We don't see them in the nurseries here very often. People confuse them with the invasive French broom and are afraid of them, I suppose.
I'm surprised that Yucca's grow so well for you. I think of them as loving hot and dry. I should be doing my taxes, but I'm going to watch some of your videos now instead Smiling
