Thank you folks for the replies on the pictures,..not forgetting the uncomfortable feeling about the change in Site name from All Things Plants to National Gardening Association.

I am not leaving the Forum just yet though it is topmost on my list,..in the past 12 years when looking for a Garden Forum i did come across NGA but it never appealed to me because of it being National,..as compared to being International or just an Open To All Forum,..i disliked the big money mentioned and in particular the association with Politicians so readily accepted then and still is,..Religion and Politics are never accepted in most Forum Rules,..yet Politician shoulder rubbing was in NGA.

Hopefully with Trish and Dave in control the discomfort for Members from Europe will ease and we will be made more welcome by National Gardening Association.

Hello everyone! Hurray!
I finally found my way back to this thread. The flowers look lovely. Oh, the swans! Enjoyed all the talk about rocks and minerals. My time on the computer is very limited since I moved house (and have a ton of work to do) but I thoroughly enjoy the peaceful nature of this thread. Names may change, we cannot control that, but please everyone, stay as sweet as your are. Lovey dubby

Debra and Jeanie,
i know many people hate change,..even if its for the better,..from looking at the change from outside the box to NGA,.. i can not see it being for the better,..i didn't realize that there was a discussion on this and the uncomfortable feeling Members from Europe were feeling,..until the Thread was locked in,..'Site Talk Forum'.

As mentioned before,..i do hope Trish and Dave can make NGA acceptable to all gardeners though that might be an impossible task as when NGA was started over 40 years ago there was no idea that gardening would become an Internet Gardening World though as time went by most people changed to allow for this,..others didn't see the light and remained inside the box thinking,..Self.

I am lucky that i can go back to a Forum i left in 2014 where there were over eight Countries represented then,..possibly more by now.

I will miss the friends i made here in ATP,..the banter and useful tips and sometimes hilarious replies Rolling on the floor laughing

Philip...you are NOT going anywhere. (You cannot see me but I am stamping my foot like a spoiled child.)
If you are not afraid of a little water Whistling surrounding your home you should not be afraid of a name.
We here on All Things Plants are still the same people and we love you. In fact, you are the only friend I have who lives where you live.

I would not much care if the name of this site were changed to "How to Kill Plants in Three Easy Lessons No Matter Where You Reside". I would still value the people who visit and post here...and I adore the photos.

We are a nation of gardeners, a nation of plant lovers, a nation of animal lovers...okay, some of us may have rocks in our heads...but we are the same as we ever were.

Note: Please know that I am not making a negative crack about any rock hounds; I am a former member, secretary and newsletter editor of a mineralogical society, so I also have rocks in my head. Rolling on the floor laughing

Oh my, Philip, I will miss you so much. I follow only four threads consistently, and yours is one of them. I am so sorry you feel the way you do, but of course we are all entitled to do what we feel best (although I will keep hoping that you might change your mind).

Arlene,..Green,..Debra,..Jeanie,

Its very hard leaving you all,..as of this morning i am one of the four members leaving for the same reason and this is before the merging of the two sites,..someone along the line was insensitive or had lack of foresight or just made a terrible mistake for some reason,..at this time in the world for something like this to be happening one could say its the first brick in the wall,..though it was not intended it could be easily mistaken,..echos of Donald Whistling

I really am sorry to be leaving you all,..i hate doing this,..try and see how the change hits those in Europe.

Keep well and safe.

Philip

Heartbreaking, yes. I am sure it was not meant to alienate anyone, but clearly it did. Best wishes to you, Philip, and enjoy your new greenhouse, camera, and of course Molly, Dennis and all your other full or part time felines. We will certainly miss you. Group hug

Gonna miss you Philip Sighing!
It was also a shock to me.
Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly believe it is the body - members - gardener's, friends that make the site. In a few months/years it will all be a distant memory. As long as Dave and Trish are still making the major/minor decisions I am confident that we will ALWAYS have a place to come together and share our comments, pictures, words of inspiration, make friends, agree to disagree, laugh, cry, challenge each other, learn, on and on.
I am here for the long haul !
I have always enjoyed seeing gardener's from all over the world posting here. Whether it is Glen and Bron in Australia, Philip in Ireland, Hilary and Cliftoncat in the UK, touchofsky and sooby in Canada, Dellac in Tasmania, Cindy in Michigan, Taylordaylily in Ohio, I could go on and on. So far the only change I have noticed is the pop up ads. I chalk that up as a way to pay the bills.

I totally agree with you, Mike.

I've learned so much from others, like @Calsurf73 (Mike) in California - my expert on roses (especially climbers), and @Zuzu, a grower of more than a thousand roses in California, and so many others (so far away) that I won't give up the site. The lily growers who have blooms when we have snow make it a joy to be here, regardless of the season.

I don't even get pop up ads!
