Thank you CJ for the welcome :-)

Our climate doesn't fit in the zone system, our winters are about zone 7, the summers are about zone 3 so it kind of evens out to zone 4-5 ..... Here's some info on our climate: http://cubits.org/icelandgarde...

I'll be happy to give you info on the Hostas that grow here :-)

Hi Rann and welcome.

Was in Iceland a few years ago for the International Viola Congress and we LOVED it. Have marked it as a place we want to revisit. I'll definitely check out your Cubit.

Ann - Glad you liked it and hope you get a chance to come back. I've yet to meet a person who's been here who didn't like it ;-)

Hi, I just joined the cubit. Last year I got my first hostas, from a co-op from Bleek. I'm still waiting to see how they fared over the winter. I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions! (If they survived, and probably more, trying to figure out what I did wrong, if they don't)

Thanks! Afghans are sort of a passion of mine, and a good part of the reason I don't have a lot of plants in the yard! (things get trampled). I have an area between my driveway and the neighbor's fence where I do almost all my gardening. Slowly, there's less and less grass in that area, and larger and larger flower bed!.

The dog in my avatar was one that I bred a long time ago, he died in 1991, but has always held a special place in my heart. There are pictures of my current kids in my dog sports cubit. Stop by and visit.

Hi everyone!

You can call me Black Thumb, as I typically have NO success whatsoever with anything I intentionally grow. My neighbor suggested that I join this group, most likely in an effort to educate me on how to keep plants on the green side. So far, my only successes in the plant world have been the 2 bamboo plants and 1 peace lily here on my desk at work. I've been told that not even The Black Thumb can kill these plants, and since I've had them for 4 years, I think they are right!
