Mary Ann...I have been hanging around inside for about a week which has been killing me! My son came to visit and brought a virus with him...I've been hacking and coughing and exhausted for a full week...so my energy to get out there and enjoy the blooms has been limited. Fortunately I'm past the worst of it and starting to get a little more active again....and just in time!

Nice pictures Paul! I love that first one, and that last pic with the varigated leaves matching the yellow blooms is very nice!

Darn it I would have loved to go to these gardens. I have a organized 40-mile bike ride that day(around the Sutter Buttes). If you plan any future trips, let me know. Have you been to Horton Iris Garden in Loomis, CA?

Ah shucks another event I cannot attend. On April 11th is our local community garden vegetable/plant sale. The Elk Grove Community Garden is a community of organic gardeners who grow food for ourselves and the Elk Grove Food Bank. My husband and I are proud members and have two plots. We are growing tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers for the food bank this spring/summer.

Thanks everyone. I have been an Iris lover since I was a very young girl. I have a very small yard and every inch of available sunny area (or partly sunny area) has an Iris planted. I love the photos you have shared and would love to learn more about Iris from you.

That's the reason I came here. To share and learn! These people know so much and I learn something everyday.
