I ONLY own 3 named and registered daylilies. I got them last year from Casshigh (a member here on ATP). Well, I got to see my very first bloom today! It is a lovely bloom with some pretty amazing branches and lots of buds. Having something to compare all my seedlings to, I now see what is meant about good branching!

Only 3! Blinking
You must not be on the Lily auction! Hilarious!
You have great self control.
I have bought over sixty daylilies this year, and I still NEED more. Most were $5 of course!
About how many seedlings do you have?
Paper Butterfly has made 105 registered patterned dayliles! You better use that one with some of your patterned seedlings

Ashton/Terry - I have over 300 seedlings. I lost count last year. LOL! Some were seeds I won on the LA but most were shared wth me by 3 members here, and of course I created many of my own crosses from existing seedlings. I had wanted Paper Butterfly because of the genes (and I saw all the children it has produced), but I can't always tell which cultivars show resistance to rust. I've read conflicting information on many cultivars concerning rust. Regardless, I really am attracted to the unknown genetics of seedlings. I have one currently that was so-so last year when it bloomed. Beautiful blooms, but not many buds. This year it has 3 and perhaps more scapes and just loaded with buds. It is a cross of Stippled Statement with unknown pollen parent. It is my favorite one so far of all that I have grown. When it starts blooming I will post a photo on the April Seedling Blooms thread. That one is MY cup of tea! I got the seed from Sandi (seedsower).

I have found as you mentioned very reasonably priced daylilies on the LA and elsewhere, but the shipping is a deal-killer for me on many of them. I am not cheap, I am on a very tight budget annually for my gardens. So seeds work out the cheapest for me. Even if I only get a few worthwhile crosses, they multiple and can be planted around my yard in other places in the future. I will eventually cull many of my seedlings because of the rust issue, but it sure is fun to see what you get from seeds!

Arlene, thanks for the preview. I can't wait to see the others!!!!
Becky Paper butterfly is a cutie. That one does well here also.
Can't say enough good things about @casshigh. Doris and David are very nice people. I got a big box of mostly white daylilies from them a few years ago.

The blooms are just beautiful!! There were a couple of truffles that didn't double so no pictures for them. Here are two that had their FFO today!

This is PARROTS OF THE CARIBBEAN. Trimmer 2009. Love this cultivar! Always puts on a show with beautiful ruffles!
Thumb of 2015-04-18/florange/59da39

Reneie's Delight is a 2004 Kinnewbrew intro. Beautiful flat bloom.

I'm not watering in the morning any more. Our water restrictions allow us to water in the afternoon from 4-10 p.m. That's what I'll do because the ffo's are coming fast and furious!

All these blooms are so nice to see! We have finally started to thaw out, the last of the snow banks melted yesterday. Hurray! Have some beds cleaned and the daylilies are starting to show some growth. It will be a few more months before anything is blooming here, look forward to seeing everyone's images until then. Smiling

I think I just found it -- spelled Renie's Delight.

I've been waiting for this one:
