Ah, more work, but you'll be able to have it just like you want it. We've had about 12 different homes since we've been married, but we've never had one built to our specifications. I think having one built would be great!
True, we can get it to our own needs and wished. We're both very much into modern/contemporary/sleek/minimalist design so that's what we're going for.

Those are very nice contemporary styles! I think homes are expensive everywhere! You're lucky if you have 2 incomes to share the costs. If you like DIY work you could have the the home built by contractors, but have them leave things you could do like drywall work. One of our friends did that. He put in the drywall, some electrical, and did the floors the way he wanted them.
It's more the other way around here. We'd help doing the building like laying stones, pouring concrete floors and hoisting beams, electrical, plumping etc, but leave the finishing touches to the pro's xD

Oh things have come to a stand still at the new site until we get the trees down (matter of few weeks now). Lots of things have been happening in the garden at home though, but I haven't had the energy to post about it. I'll remember to do so coming days
