I thought I was the only one with missing letters on DG. I feel better knowing it is the site. I will miss the bird sites.

Arlan,
I use the granuals and I need to keep two bags on hand. I never finish the second, but I have to have it. I don't always do the historics but they will get a borer or two.

Lucy,
I'll miss Pull up a Chair. They are all staying. I'll miss Memory Garden too. Hopefully I'll still be able to look at Watchdog.

I don't know for sure which features you can use there but if you log off completely then go back to the sight as a guest you will know for sure. I have found Watchdog practically useless for my purposes. Everything is so outdated; when I find a company I want to order from they are no longer in business.

I sort of have to agree with you , Lori.....it IS very *out dated*, but still, for those 'older" sources...it is OK. As far as "good" vs. "bad" experiences.....I pretty much take them with a grain of salt, anyway. A lot depends on YOUR attitude, and expectations, when ordering......or complaining Sticking tongue out .....
I would like to see a similar feature here, on ATP. Downside to a thing like that, it's pretty easy to "rag" on a vendor.....without , maybe, giving them a chance to correct an issue "in private". Upside, is, of course, you can read about other folk's experiences....good AND bad !
Several of the "vendors" are members here, and, even if they don't actually "post" very often....can at least read comments on just what 'we"....as customers, or potential customers.....want, and that's got to be....or SHOULD be!....important to them.

If you go to the Green Pages here, you can get some feedback about vendors. Smiling

I just stumbled upon a possible id for one I've had for several years. I received it in an historic iris swap, and I don't recall if I was given a name at the time or not. I've just called it my "big old blue". It is simple by today's standards, but is a vigorous garden plant that never fails to put on a great show, regardless of care. The tall stems are strong and rarely fall over. I think it could possibly be 'Blue Rythm'

It looks like a really good possibility, Neal. Hopefully, mine will bloom this Spring..

There will be lots of them up for grabs this summer- there are 3 big clumps of them that will be edited down to 1 medium sized clump. I'll have some pretty named modern blues to divide and plant in their places this summer Smiling

LOL, good point! That's obviously something that happened before the iris virus took hold- I just wanted blue irises in those spots. Now I'm seeing it as valuable real estate that could accommodate up to 9 different cultivars! From a design stand point, the repetition (or echoing) is beautiful, but there are so many good blues I can totally do that with modern babies.

I just found ids for 2 of my JIs! I looked back at dmails from 2009 and found where Polly had listed them. They were all different enough from each other to tell. Now I know this one is 'Center of Attention' Hurray!

YAY Neal, on finding their names. If you have a NoID and you know you received it with a name it is always good to find its name.

Gemini,
I love how we name our unknown iris.
That looks very close to Blue Rhythm and it's beautiful!
Smiling, I did the same except for Mme. Chereau and the really fragrant white one I have. I have it here and there for fragrance. The rest went to one clump
Awesome! You've really been doing your homework. Pirl has quite a few Japanese Iris and is good about using markers with their names.
