I just updated my blog:

http://garden.org/blogs/view/j...

In less than a week I am going to stop posting here, so feel free to comment about the daylilies in my blog.

I have a lot of seedling in bloom today, but they are kind of mixed in with the non seedling photos so beware that they are not all in one place in my post.

I agree, the orange is one of my favorites so far. Perfect round bagel and the color Lovey dubby . Loving all the patterns as well, the smaller ones have a lot going on in those eyes.

I've been swamped here, the garden is growing like crazy now that it has warmed up, I am still running two weeks behind even though the plants are not. Working on our regional auction...a wedding the first week of August ( my son, you would think he would know better than pick a date during bloom season!) And for some reason I decided to raise a few chickens this year, 16 of the cutest little 2 day old fluff balls came Thursday...enjoying reading everyones posts and seeing the blooms Smiling

Absolutely love those little ones, Fred -- I'm totally taken with that EMERALD STARBURST seedling in your May 11 post and your LILLIAN'S LYING EYES X BUTTERFLY COVE bloom in your May 12 post -- and I think the last two in this most recent post are totally fabulous!

I've had a few small seedlings bloom, but the smallest blooms I've gotten so far are around 4" -- but they're all tets from crosses I made two or three years ago. I just got into the dips last year and this is my first year of crossing dips. I've noticed that it does seem like all the true minis I've been collecting for the past few years are dips, and the tets are usually over 3".

Where did you get your COFFEE TO GO plant? That's one I would love to get after seeing all the beauties you're getting from it!

I don't do dips but am also curious... about the Coffee to Go X Wild Dreams sdlg that seems to be the parent of many of these cool little patterned ones. Is an image of it in one of your posts?

Nice first seedling Gerry, and congratulations on the retirement.

Betty I have had "COFFEE TO GO" for several years, do not remember where I got it, but you know where you can get it if you ever decide you want it. Mr. Anderson lives in Alabama and its on Region 14s Popularity Poll. It's registered as a small but always blooms mini for anyone who grows it, which worked out well for myself.

Char there are two sibs that I have used.
HB01-13 (COFFEE TO GO X WILD DREAMS)

Although both seedlings are really nice, to look at I would pick the HB02-13 sdlg love the lighter edge dark eye combination. The seedlings from both show such a variety of colors and patterns...but I'm drawn more to the seedlings from HB01-13. Funny how that happens sometimes.
The poly is cool!

Gerry, your first ever seedling bloom is always so exciting. I like the eye with the darker color spreading outward at the top. I still remember my first ever sdlg bloom ...yours is much nicer!

I have a lot more seedlings from HB01-13 than HB02-13 because 01 blooms so much earlier, that's also the reason it ended up with the first #. I only hybridize thru the first week of June and its still a week before HB02-13 has its first bloom.
The Mobile Daylily Show is tomorrow and I will try post photos Sunday morning.

It's been raining (in California no less!) and too cold to pollinate so far this morning, so I have some time to post.

ORANGE BLOSSOM TRAIL X SPACECOAST COLOR SCHEME - I'm really excited about this one -- love the brilliant neon color, which is even brighter than the pictures show, and every bloom so far has been wonderful. Here are two different blooms.

FLAMES OF BEAUTY X DR. CELIA STUMP - The first picture is my first bloom, and by the third bloom (second picture) its little teeth appeared - 4" blooms.
