It just about fits.
These are easier to clean than the concrete.

I meant to ask, is that box some sort of trap?

That's my "patent" hedgehog feeder. It's a cheap upturned plastic box, the lid being used as the floor. I've fixed a piece of 4" plastic soil pipe to the front as an entrance, so only hedgehogs can get in and their food is safe from cats. I put two slates on the top to stop any visiting fox from turning it over.

Here's one going in, recorded on a trail cam.

Uh huh! They were just saying last week we had a 3" deficit. I think it rained 6" since Friday so we must have a 3" surplus by now. Hilarious!

You can send your excess out our way. While we've gotten decent amounts of rain the past two winters, it isn't enough to refill our underground water tables.

I watered everything on Friday so of course we did get rain on Saturday. No rain since but the temps have been low 70s...

It should be raining shortly after I get up in the morning if not before. I spent most of the day outside today doing a little of this and that. As I went to flower beds to take pictures, I pulled a few weeds in many of them. I jumped from area to area but not really getting anything completely done. Blinking

I know this thread is more for outdoor gardening and that we have a houseplants subforum, but I was curious if any of you have houseplants (I know purpleinopp does Sticking tongue out )? I only have one because of our poor indoor lighting.

Temple has gotten 8.4" of rain in April, 4.2" so far in May. One of the wettest Springs I can remember in a very long time. I'm getting tired of having to hose mud clumps off my new little dog's feet every time she goes outside (quite the little digger, that one) and SHE doesn't appreciate the foot baths one bit! The rain we'll be begging for in a couple of months, so I'm not complaining, mind you. The water has been very good to the grass and plants this year. She's a rat terrier/chihuahua mix and loves to go to ground for the tiniest little bug. Digs much more than my last 2 rat terriers, at any rate. In fact she pre-dug 4-5 of the holes I didn't have to shovel much in my side garden for planting out some new lovelies. Would that she exhibited a little more of THIS behavior outdoors :)

@Weedwhacker
It is nice to know that I am not the only one who does this type of weeding. As I was straddling a couple rows of Iris in my Trampoline Bed, I thought "I'll weed these 3 rows to the other side, and next time, I can do the same thing again whenever I'm in the area". Hilarious!

Jeanne, now I REALLY feel like I'm in good company - your gardens are always gorgeous Lovey dubby . (That method is apparently working much better for you than it does for me Whistling )
