They love lots of water, and keep it in mostly shade, or the colors fade. Some Caladiums are "tolerant" of sun but they never have nearly the nice colors they get if they're in the shade.
If you live where it cools off in winter, they will die back completely under ground, so don't forget to label the pot, or the spot where you planted them. If it freezes where you are, a thick layer of mulch is a good idea to keep the corms from freezing. They'll come up year after year if you care for them nicely.
