Most of the beds are empty stalks with a flower here and there looking pretty ratty. We've had really got weather the past two days and anything that opens doesn't last long. Sad to see it happening.

I really like standards that are infused with just a bit of the fall colors like Chasing Rainbows. It makes the color contrast more striking.

Ah well Tom, maybe next time..... Sure is a waste of a good bottle of wine though..... Just may have to drink it with the family! (Wink)

My Carnival Ride did not bloom but grew like a weed, so I am hoping for a great show next year. Whispering Spirits last flower on the last stalk is about to open this morning. I have a few straggles here and there. The flowers look a bit ratty as the temps are soaring; going into the mid 90's today.

My Japanese iris Ol' Man River is opening in spite of the heat. Bloom is a bit small. Just hope they don't wilt before I get home tonight!
