Thanks Lorn. Karen, Joe seems to have the perfect spots to grow martagons. I think that is the secret I haven't figured out yet. They are expensive, or at least the ones have bought have been about $20.
Very nice show everyone. Karen, the martagons should be right at home in your Minnesota climate as they need adequate chilling in the winter. My experience has been good for my first two years of growing them. I would not say they are difficult if you have an ok soil. They are expensive because unlike many other lilies, they take a lot longer to mature but are worth the show in my opinion. I got most of mine from Faraway Flowers on Facebook and one from B&D lilies. Good luck.
Had it, need my local Lowes to ship some in! 2 years waiting. A perfect accent for Tiger Play, in theory but then again my Tiger Play has flowering short stems this year. Hmm, I still think it's worth a try.
I just love the tiny series, and am trying to collect all of them. I think I have most of them now, but my Tiny Padhye isn't doing well, so will probably replace that one. They get so many flowers that you wonder how the stems can hold them up.
Happiness is doing for those who cannot do for themselves.
Very much enjoying the pictures. 'Tiger Babies' really has to be one of my favorites. No matter what the year, wet, dry, cool, hot....it always performs with excellence, truly lasting the test of time, a hybridizer's dream.
