Brenda, I have a couple of teaching certifications (unused) and one of the most irritating things for me, both when taking classes and observing other's classes, was being around instructors who assumed. At least this guy had the grace to apologize.

I have hands like that, too--short and fat...thank goodness, or they wouldn't match the rest of me.

I suppose that if I had been the shy type, it could have been very embarrassing...but for me it was just funny which left the instructor the only one embarrassed

I went without gloves for the first 50 years of gardening, but for the next 50+ I will be wearing them. (and I wish that I had always worn them) I sometimes wear tight plastic gloves under my work gloves just so I won't have to scrub and bleach my hands and nails-this helps a lot!

June, Kathy_Ann has a cubit for soaps and her Gardener's Soap is amazing. She puts all kinds of good stuff in including strawberry seeds. Cleans hands up nicely. I have six bars enroute. Treemail an address and I will pop a couple of bars in a flat rate envelope to you. (My company ships all over the world.) I think you will like it.

Thank you, but I am only doing houseplants here, up on the 14th floor, while we are in Korea It is one of the hardest sacrifices that I have ever had to make for DH's job! (I have always had at least SOME dirt to work with {whine}.) I have been here almost 2 years now and am starting to think that DH's office needs a garden

I read that there is a clematis bred to be grown indoors, specifically in an office environment. Maybe you can start with that.

If you tell him it's an office clematis, how could he say no?
