That sounds good, Tom. Now I can't wait for them to start producing so I can try these things, and I will stick to the squash!!!

I put on my summer gardening hat and went out to tackle the flopping tomato plants. Put on a new row of Florida weave all around. So some of the tomato plants now have three rows of weave already.

Today's harvest, and that doesn't even include all the cucumbers. I got them in hard for refrigerator pickles before I remembered to photograph

Summer has arrived with a full brass band. Second week of triple digit temps with no rain in sight. Trying to get corn in, but later varieties are roasting in the field. Southern peas are holding up pretty well.

Thanks for the compliments on my harvest, as a Buffalo transplant to the South I really love the early harvests. Karen those jars of yellow NC pickling cukes are dill refrigerator pickles. I just measure out the spices in each jar, slice the cukes into jar and pour the water, salt vinegar in and pop in fridge. Very fast but they only last a few weeks in fridge since they aren't processed. Make great gifts and we eat a lot of pickles too.
