"See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
is heard in our land.
The fig tree forms its early fruit;
the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
Arise, come, my darling;
my beautiful one, come with me.”

Song of Solomon 2:11-13

The Mexican Primrose...look white in this pic, but they are the pink ones. They don't get out of control here as they do in so many other places...

Your irises are beautiful. If I had more space, I would think about getting some of the fancier geraniums. We have a Mexican evening primrose that came with the house. It grows in a scruffier part of the yard. What I don't like about it is that it looks bad in hot weather.

Here she is. Sherry, they are not supposed to take six years to bloom, that's just what happens on our property. We have at least one that is still its original 1-gallon size !

Oops, cross-posted. Wish our prickly pear looked like that, Kelli.

The water iris went crazy this year and the Yorkshire rose was very pretty, too.

Which color of the bush monkeyflower is found in the wild in your area? Around here, the light orange one is in the Santa Monica Mountains and the brownish-red one is found in the Simi Hills. I saw a brighter red one at Torrey Pines last year.

One of my Silk Oaks is finally blooming! It has taken it quite a few years and reaching 25-30 ft tall to do so, but OTH, they were only watered the first couple of years to get them established.
