I love the 'durability' of roses. When we lived in Northern Ca, there were 50 roses that came with the house...and had become inundated with Bermuda grass...UGH! I dug and moved them all and they didn't blink an eye. On the West side of the house here I had two Souvenir de la Malmaisons, a Fair Bianca and a Climbing Sally Holmes. I'd planted them years ago in probably the worst soil on the property, just baking hot in the sun agains the house wall...so, we were supposed to be starting the roof overhang for the Westside of the house and I dug out the Bianca and one Malmaison...stuck them in clay pots and they're just thriving. I'd figured on losing the Sally Holmes, chopped her way back and fortunately hdan't dug her out yet when I realized that Jer was on to another long term project and the roof was on hold. This is Bianca-in-a-pot...
Goin to San Diego (nursery, heh heh he)...more later
