KD.

Thanks for pointing me to this thread. All I can say is ..... WOW. nodding Awesome!!!

Green Grin!

OT -- Above you said:

"During the previous 10+ years we had only 1 or 2 tropical storms pass; this past year alone brought 10+ tropical storms nearby. Extremely unusual for our area. Hopefully next year it will be clear sailing."

I hope so too. Very high probability that this was caused by El Nino - which has caused such crazy weather here in the CONUS this year. The worst outbreak of tornados this year happened in the past week!!

The last time we had a really bad El Nino was '97/'98 and it was followed by a significant La Nina event. I have no idea how that affected you there. You might want to check it out and the effect of La Nina in your part of the world, cause you will feel its effects first.

Back to Adeniums nodding

I only have one and given my Zone and how I have to treat it, it is not remotely close to being in your league. Big Grin However, looking at your pics has provided me with some encouragement.

And the info you have shared above is Epic.

Hurray! Thank You! I tip my hat to you.

David

Great looking new babies, KD!

I think I spoke too soon. My Adenium that went a week without water may have some bud damage. They are looking dry and may fall off. Sad

So KD, given your weather/environment et cetera, you can start seeds when ever you want?

Yes, David, I can start seedlings year-round. However, I treat them differently by the "season" here. During rainy season and during really hot weather season I have them sheltered under a canopy. Under this canopy they get several hours of morning direct sunlight, and that is enough for them.

Right. And I understand that when you get as much rain as you had this summer, you need some protection to prevent rot.

Thanks, Willeke. The taller, thicker seedlings are Somalense and Thai Soco's. If I'm not mistaken you have planted only Obesums so far, and they start out smaller.
