I was OK until I looked up and saw the trees sort of bending over and cradling my house from above. That was a little weird.
And the sirens.
And the thunder that rattled the skeletons in my attic.
Or whatever is up there.
Actually it was not a very lovable storm. Not enough rain for all the noise it made either.

It's raining here as I type. We just had another big haboob (dust storm).

Well, I am not a happy camper! Grumbling Our Goodwill has priced everything higher than Walmart!!! Example: a clay saucer for a plant $2.99. I left empty handed and will table making a stack until later. I didn't see anything I really wanted anyway.

Becky, remind me nearer Christmas, there's a way to make big nutcrackers much like making the stackables. Fun to make and really nice on porches or beside evergreens in yards.
QuikWall!!

Too it can be made for inside with papier mache'.

I agree Closest one is an hour away though and I rarely head in that direction. It seems like all the "good" stores are an hour away. Sad I still like living in a small town but it sure limits my choices when I'm looking for bargains! Becky, our Goodwill prices seem higher too? Ya think they know we're coming? Hilarious! I've actually found the prices much better at Salvation Army but again, an hour away. Grumbling

I can't keep up with all of you! Hilarious! Debbie, your painting is excellent! I would never have thought of painting the china? I've seen textured pieces I love the look of but hated the color. I'll be looking at them differently the next time I see them though. Thumbs up

You should have had it too, Song, it was one of those hide under the bed kind.

Not much rain though.
Just a lot of wind and noise.

Yes, it arrived here with just strong wind and hardly any rain. Sad

Oh, I haven't worked with papier mache' in years. I adore that stuff ... so much fun!! Talk about a "hands on" experience. Thumbs up

Most of the thrift stores here have gone up on their pricing too. Thumbs down There isn't always any rhyme or reason to the prices either. But sometimes I find a real jewel that is way undervalued. So I keep searching there.

WM has gone up on E-6000. Yesterday, I paid $2.97 per tube. But that's nothing compared to the increase in the price of the shredded cheeses I buy. Month before last I was paying $7.98 for a bag and yesterday I paid $9.24 for the same thing. Ouch! OT but i just needed to gripe that out.

Carry on. Big Grin

The news said Walmarts sales have dropped 10%, so maybe they are trying to make up the difference. I guess I need to go shop there today to help them out a bit, so our prices will come back down. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Oh dear, the reason I am going to Baton Rouge, is to get my contact lens check up. Guess what is in the same shopping center as my doctors office. TUESDAY MORNINGS. Hurray! Tuesday Mornings and Goodwill today. I better leave my debit card home. See ya'll later. Anyone want to join me? Whistling

I hope you all have a good day.

I guess I'm not the only one complaining about the price of our E-6000 going up at Wal-Mart. I've never priced it anywhere else. And we are told inflation isn't going up, how dumb do they think we are........... Hilarious!

I'm hoping the thrifst store I go to doesn't raise prices like the Good Will. They get everything free and then put such high prices on it. I think that is all the complaints I have for now, probably more before the day is out. Rolling on the floor laughing

Food is higher all over, at all the stores! I've lost 12 pounds...I'm buying only what I need and what's low calorie.

SHARON

I yelled so you'd see this! Big Grin Vic and I have a reminder on our calendar. I put November 1st so we'd have time to make these for Christmas time. Should we all save some newspaper for this, I assume?

I agree, Vicki. I see that Target is up 10%. Hmmm ... WM is down 10% and Target is up by that same amount. I know Target made the decision to go head to head with WM, and it appears to be working. Could WM's reign as the "low price leader" be coming to an end.? If their grocery prices continue to escalate, I'm going back to Kroger's. I like their stores better anyway, but the price difference was enough to keep me at WM for most groceries. First Wednesday of every month at Kroger's is additional 10% off for over-55 ... or is it over-60? Well, anyway. The cost difference between the two is dwindling greatly.

Fine Becky, just get lots of people to remind me. And you.
Yes newspapers, cheap paper towel rolls or even those brown PT rolls that you can sometimes find. Muslin works too. Old sheer curtains. It can be made using a lot of different things. Doesn't have to be paper, but the process is the same. I might use an old sheet.
Messy, though.

Good. I used to collect nutcrackers. I'd love to make some tall ones. You know how I like to stack stuff. How tall are they?
