OK, here's my attempt at a garden ball. This is a small globe stake that I bought about 6 or 7 years ago. I kept it in the garden where the sun shone on it and it created prisms. Then a couple of years ago it developed white spots and didn't do the prism anymore. I banished it to my side garden, which is my "live or get yanked" garden where it stayed. I cleaned it off and glued small glass stones to it. It doesn't look half bad now and will come out of banishment. :)

Another great luminiary idea! I have used the glass globes off of old ceiling fans for garden luminaries before. They were pretty cool, I will have to see where I put those darn things and take a pic.

Aren't you glad you didn't get rid of that stake? It really is cute, I must go out and get my bowling ball, wash it off fill up the holes and then start creating. It is going to be a hit and miss one since I'm not very creative. Hilarious!

Oh my ... how did I miss this thread? I have a gazing ball I made a couple of years ago that's faded out almost completely from our intense sun. I should have kept it in a shady spot in the garden. I've been talking about re-doing this one for awhile now and I have another bowling ball in the shed that's just sitting and waiting for mosaics or some such! I just have a lot of stuff going on this summer so it will be fall or winter before I can tackle the project.

This is a pic of my bowling ball art when it was first done a few years ago. I got the idea from Wuvie on DG. I cut floral pictures out of magazines, decoupaged them onto the bowling ball and then clear coated it.

ps for the artistically challenged like me: decoupage is a fancydancy word for GLUEING (the horror, the horror)

Hello....did you miss me today? Big Grin

WOW, creativity is flowing and I am having is much fun looking at everything! How will Vic and I ever keep up with you all? (We won't...no way! Hilarious! )

Tee, will the fun never end? These light fixtures turned garden art are so much fun!!! I can picture them as luminaries too. You did a great job. Hurray! And when Sharon said she loved the red birds I was looking all over..WHAT RED BIRDS???? Then I found them. I'll send you my address so you can send them to Phoenix for a vacation. Whistling

I can't wait to see your fish bowl, Tee. it's close enough to round for me. (not a rule follower here when it comes to crafts)

Sally, that is one very cute sphere! I am so happy it came out of banishment....you could sell these in a garden shop. I love it. Lovey dubby It would also be pretty at my home...do you need my address too? Whistling

Lin, I really enjoy decoupage! I do a lot of it. Your ball is beautiful and really pops out from the green. How has your ball held up in the sun and rain? What sealer did you use? What glue? (Sorry...lots of ???'s. One More: Want to do a tutorial for us and make another one? Rolling on the floor laughing (I'm serious)

Dahlia, as ever, you and your glue. You need those glue bottles with the brush! I use a brush actually quite a bit...pouring my glue into a little throw away container. Would a brush and glue for you be a mishap my friend? Big Grin

You are all so inspiring! Group hug

Boo I've tried a brush and found I had no where to put it when I need both hands to apply the stuff to be glued to the object to be glued upon . Are there glue trays where you can rest your brush without it sticking? One reason methinks "Paint is your friend' is you can rest your brush when you need to Smiling

Yes, Dahlia. I have very cool glue trays I use when seriously working with glue. They look just like an ice cube tray.

Oh wait......
