These are some of the Strictum blooms taken back in June. This is a plant I discarded 18 months ago because it looked poorly and stuck the pot on the edge of the driveway under a tree. It thrived and is still going strong and getting bigger. Hot sun, heavy rain, nothing seems to phase it. Considering hanging more outside to get more greenhouse space

Here are my last blooms of the year. I don't see any more buds coming.

Whats everyone doing during the non blooming season? Need to keep the chat going to see if we can get a dedicated forum.

I've just started cleaning up the plants. Here in Hawaii they never stop growing so just did my fall fertilizer rounds with 16.16.16. Trimming off dead or infected branches and transferring as many plants as possible to hanging pots. Not taking so many cuttings this year, just a few from my choice bloomers. Also doing three cuttings to the pot so 12 cuttings of Snow Leopard is only 4 pots instead of 12. I fear that I may end up with about 30 pots of cuttings this year that won't bloom until 2017.
My biggest problem is oversized plants. They were overcrowding my front deck leaning against the railing. Without support down on the greenhouse bench they fall over. I think I will have to be brave and trim them right back, stand them up and wait for new growth. Of course that's more cuttings. Some of the branches are three and four feet long.

Maybe I've said all this before.

Like someone said'keep it going"

This is 'My Big Red'. It took 2 of my workers to get this into green house Thursday. I estimated over 50 to 80 blooms this year.

A few of my Christmas Cactus's on pole and another 'My Big Red'. Loaded with buds.

Normally I don't have any Epiphyllum blooming at this time of year, but this X Ackermannii managed to throw some blooms this week. It is the only one of my large Epi hybrids I keep in the house, the others are in the garage with the door open still during the day.

Ursula - Beautiful! Love the color of that bloom! Does it have a scent at all?

Is it a daytime bloomer or a night bloomer?

It blooms at day time and the blooms stay open for a couple of days. This is really one of the very common reds one stumbles over every so often at nurseries.

Ironically, no epis are sold at local nurseries here. You'd think there would be lots of them sold here in FL. No. I have to mail order or get them in trade from other states. Confused Glare

Ursula, Is the Ackermannii X the same one I got from Kathy? Mine needs to be potted up, but every time I looked at it it had new buds. I think it's finally done for the winter.

My Epis do their thing in spring, then quit. This little guy bloomed on and off all summer. That's the cutting Kathy sent me.
