New Orleans Lady is making huge leaves! 17 inches from tip of leaf to the point where it is attached to the plant! This is a starter plant grown from a rooted cutting received this spring. I can't wait to see the flowers!!

I also started New Orleans Lady from a cutting this spring and it is making huge leaves just like yours. It has given me a couple of blooms already, but they were not double yet. I guess it takes a little time to get into full production.

As the sun angle gets lower, my plant will get more sun and I'm hoping that will inspire it to double up the blooms.

Here ya go, Joseph. These are from June but it has bloomed one or two again a couple of weeks ago. Don't feel bad, I do live in Florida and we had an exceptionally warm spring this year, so it really took off. I've already had to re-pot it into a 16in. pot, and it's over 5ft. tall now.

I have Zone envy Smiling Cutting to bloom in a matter of months. Of course I was tickled to have a rooted cutting that bloomed for me multiple times last year in Zone 5 b NW Missouri. Two flushes with over 20 blooms.

I started out with a rooted cutting. It made 3 robust lateral branches that subsequently Y-d.

If your cutting came from above a Y, it will bloom a lot sooner, but some people don't like the more shrubby, short shape the plant makes from those cuttings.

A couple I've had from cuttings below the Y have gone up nearly 6ft before dividing and blooming. I like the shorter, quicker blooming version a lot better.

Give it lots of warm water, and keep it warm as you can, Joseph.

It's nearly September already, and if you let it get cold at night, it will slow down and stop making buds.
