Almost everythings blooming. Although the daylilies are barely just starting the yellow speckled tango (top) liles are going strong.

Oh, my, Rita, that is just gorgeous. It's simply amazing what you've done. I know it's been a lot of hard work, and it shows.

Wonderful Rita!

Moby, I was over at the hospital for a meeting when the rain hit on Wed. Thought I'd try to walk home in it, but walked out and it felt like a hurricane. We received almost an inch in 15 minutes. Was smart and waited to walk home and by that time the sun was shining. Need to weed badly,so got up at 4:30 this morning and am just waiting for a little light.

Gorgeous Rita, I love it!!
Susan how on earth can you weed in all the dew. I would be soaked but then I wait until it dries up and it is too hot. Hilarious!

Thanks, people for the compliments. That garden section has a little of everything, at least my favorites. Lots of daylilies, lilies, annuals, agastaches, some roses, sedum, catmint, a butterfly bush, violas, siberian and TB Iris, bulbs like daffodils and more.

Gorgeous, Rita! The plants in their entirety are shown off to their full potential in your terraces. I love the overall shape of Daylily plants, but in many situations a lot of that beauty is hidden. Love it!

I forgot to add that that entire stucture (hardscape walls) was done in the very late fall (finished November) of 2007. Then the actual garden (plants) were put in the spring of 2008.

Jo Ann, your beds are starting to look so well established too. Lovely combinations of textures and colors. How long have you been at that house now?

I posted some photos over on the June blooms thread but will put some here too. This is the front strip beside the street. That's Kentucky near the center and Plum Peach a little behind and to the right, then Royal Sunset to the left.
Coneflowers and daylilies are just getting started in this bed. I planted a Black and Blue Salvia and a new agastache in this bed for more fall color. I think the Agastache was called Ava but my memory may be wrong. Also planted a lot of coleus in pots that I may be able to move into bare spots later in the smummer after the daylilies slow down.

Here' the area on the opposite side of the side walk between the two trellises. The light lily is Arctic Ice and the pink one Cote d Azur. Landini is about to open by the barberry bush. That's Black Cherry knautia in front. I like it so much I faithfully deadhead it every day to keep it from going to seed. It bloomed way passed the first frost last year and had buds on it this Spring when I brushed the snow off.

Thanks. I have grown Knautia from seed before and have had some self sow. This one I bought at a nursery because I really liked the deep color.

Here' a photo of the back in all it's hot burning colors.

Thought you might like to see one of my neighbor's front beds. He grows the wild ditch lilies. I think it is pretty. Sorry about the garbage can. It is right acorss the street from a park with a waterfall, so lots of people get to enjoy it.

Just for fun, here is the waterfall. The house with the garden is one of the white ones on the left. The waterfall is about a block from me, so I can enjoy the sound and the concerts that are held there in the summer.

Wonderful what he's done with the hell strip and the flowers cascading over on the front side of his yard. That waterfall is amazing.
