Now I know why you love OT's Polly. My instincts are to go for them too.

They do so well in our area Jo. You can do orientals better than we can, we're just that much colder, but the OTs seem to do very well. I've just really come to love them.

Lets see more of them. Is the difference between OT's and Orientals that the Orientals have a scent?

Most OTs I have are highly scented. They are orientals crossed with trumpets. The trumpets are hardier, so the cross makes the OTs hardier than the orientals. Plus a lot of the trumpets are tall, so that gives height to the OTs. The flower petals seem to have a lot of substance, and last longer. I don't think they are good multipliers, as a rule.

Am I right, guys? Any additional info on OTs?

I have a few OTs that multiply here readily, one of them is 'Robert Griesbach' the other that comes to mind is 'Visaversa'. As a rule from my experience, they don't multiply too fast. But is a great gift when they do.

Polly, you have it right on the OT. They don't have as strong of fragrance as an oriental or a trumpet, I'd say that their fragrance is nice, but not at all overpowering. And when it comes to lilies, overpowering is what I like. I love smelling them at night as the day cools down, and in the morning as the sun comes up. There's nothing like a stroll in the garden with that fragrance. I know some people find it not pleasing, but I really love it.

Thanks, Tracey.

I like the overpowering in the garden. I like the smell of OTs in the house.

'Shocking' is another one that multiplies well here. I've given away many of them too.

I was blown away at how many there were.
I have Red Dutch too but transplanted them and not any bulb-lets.
