Well, as a result of the enabling on this forum, I'm adding 8 from Faraway:
1 x Tanita,
1 x Santa Rosa
1 x Forever Susan
1 x Candy Floss
1 x Big Brother
1 x Pink Heaven
1 x Tiger Edition
1 x Chiara
Every fall, I place an order from Buggy Crazy, and hopefully I'll get some from one of the lily societies.
Maybe I'll sell some of my daylilies and use the money to buy more lilies! Have to check out the Lily Garden next.
I really love the tall lilies. My Silk Road hit 9 foot tall last year without being staked.

What did you feed a 9 footer to not have to stake it? Serious question, not a joke. I've had them that tall, and had to mickey mouse a stake as it kept out growing the previous one. Would love to have them sturdier.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
My 9' Silk Roads are 5 years old, and are planted on the west side of my house near a brick wall. There is a brick wing wall directly north of them also. The soil is the best imaginable. Our summer winds come from the west and south. The lilies do lean a bit once the blooms open, which I like because I can smell them. There's no fertilizer in that bed other than some alfalfa pellets on the roses nearby, and some fish emulsion and blood meal which I use to deter rabbits.
I would call it a fairly protected area, with some afternoon shading from a maple tree nearby. I had to get out the loppers to cut the stems off last fall. When these bulbs were at my last house, I did have to stake them. Here, I put in stakes, but forgot to attach the stalk and just let them grow. We've had record rainfall, so I'm lucky they didn't rot.
That bed must have good drainage.
I'll see if I can find a photo from last summer.

Woo hoo, pictures of 9' Silk Road coming soon.

Mine are about the same age, but not as tall. But 6'+. When I bought them i also got Catherine The Great at the same time, and that's been a really tall one for me, but I haven't seen it in the catalogue recently.

Silk Road is at least 8' tall for me and I have never staked them. They are on the East side of my garage and do lean out a little when they bloom. I have a King Kong planted behind them and it does need staked. You can see the gutter on my garage in this photo and the SR's are much taller.

How gorgeous! I really love the tall ones. Actually I like tall anything that doesn't need to be staked.

Have you had a shopping excursion at the PNWLS spring sale? Those look like the pictures I uploaded for the sale.

Yes,a DG friend joined and she is helping my outrageous addiction.
Trouble is ,if I fill my lily spaces in the garden this year, what will I do next year when new lilies come out.
There are already some new intros on B&D .

Looking at all these pictures is getting me so excited about lily season!!!

Since gardening room is getting sparce - I blew a lot of my lily budget on some Midsummer's Eve bulbs from The Lily Garden: http://thelilygarden.com/pages...
Just couldn't resist this one.

Also ordered Joyful, Iowa Rose and Karen North.

My lily buying philosophy was similar this year: buy a few of the high-end ones and less of the low-enders.

From the PNWLS I ordered one each of Opulent and Carte Blanche. Even with the discounts, it will be top ramen noodles for a while around here Smiling

I also ordered a bag of Ortegas to use for hybridizing.
