Thank you in advance! Thank You!

I agree - please edit so your address is safe (I edited it here). Welcome Nancy! Welcome!

Sorry, but I only had one Edith Wolford right now. I hadn't planned to divide that one until next year, but one was loose from the rest. I can make a note to send it next year if you would like?

Debra - you are too kind!

Well, folks at this point I am out of postage iris . I have tree mailed all those that can expect boxes.

Thanks so much for all the interest. I can pretty much guarantee that within two years I will have more Acoma and Quaker Lady since they reliably grow and increase here. I should have more other varieties too.

My Edith Wolford is a finicky grower, slow to increase and only blooms about every other year for me.

Tom - mine didn't bloom the first year either, but really increased and bloomed this year. It was a surprise "sleeper" in my garden.

Now I have a few that haven't bloomed at all since the first year, and those will be leaving if they don't bloom in the spring (it will be 3/4 years since they bloomed by then and I need the real estate).

I gave away Edith Wolford because it just diminished away to one fan and in three years only had one bloom stalk. I think I am going to move Scarlet Ribbon because it will not bloom or increase here. I have had it for 3-4 years and it has not bloomed once and has only one increase. If it does not shape up and like it here it is going to move somewhere else.

Midnight Oil, Starship Enterprise, Sunrise Elegy and Apollodorus are going to share the fate of Scarlet Ribbon. The only one that may get a reprieve is Starship because it has some new increase going on. They were all in the tree ring, which did great at first. Last year I mixed in new soil, but the iris aren't thriving as much as I would like. I may just have to re-do that part of the garden.

Sunrise Elegy has NEVER bloomed for me, Leslie. It was from one I got from Schreiner's about 3-4 years ago. I have had it in two places and others bloomed around it. I should make a list. If it has not bloomed in at least three years, even after moving it..... it needs to move out.

That is interesting Bonnie. I know people love it, and many grow it easily. I wonder if it is one of those that doesn't do heat and humidity? If I had an extra garden I would throw all the non-bloomers in there and see if it just takes a long long time for them to get acclimated. No such luxury though. I have potted ones waiting.

Midnight Oil & Starship Enterprise are not good growers in our area. I speak of MA as we don't grow them. Lightshine sibling of S.E. grows very well.

Starship Enterprise has gone through 2 springs now and no bloom. It's got one more year to prove itself... I got Lightshine this year.. Maybe it will be better.
Either way, it's obvious that I'll need to start culling under-performers, and those that don't thrill me if I keep collecting as many each year as I have been. So far, I've been unable to... Rolling on the floor laughing

Sunrise Elegy was slow to start for me. I got two rhizomes in the PNW sale in 2013. Neither bloomed in 2014 (which was sort of expected as it was received on 9/21. This year only one of the rhizome "clumpettes" bloomed this year. I dug up this bed this year as the whole bed under performed and my guess is the dirt needs some amending. I expect to se both perform well this upcoming Spring.

It needs a "settling in" time.

If it does not bloom next spring I will move it to the 'new' TB bed that I will create this fall. The soil should be to its liking. Then I will give it another year to perform. If not it will just be a memory.

Greg - mine performed the exact opposite way. It bloomed well it's first year, but hasn't bloomed since.

I'm having problems with my starship enterprise also! It bloomed the first 2 years but right now it's struggling! It has no leaves but has increases on it. It looks horrible. I'm giving it until next year to see what it does. I was talking to someone else about this too, maybe Jane. Not sure. But they also were having problems.
