Hi Anthony. Two Lilium rhodopaeum seedlings are up with a leaf each now. Thanks!

Winnipeggy. You can't really see it, but it has darker nectaries with light centers.

I wonder if this is Winnipeggy. It "showed up" in my garden. I never purchased any lily under that name and there is no label where it came up. But several years ago I purchased On Wisconsin from the PNWLS and planted it in that general area (within inches, I would say). It wasn't doing well and I removed it to a pot on my front porch for recuperation.

From the Lily Register, I understand that On Wisconsin = Winnipeggy.

I have that lily known as 'Winnipeggy', but admittedly 'On Wisconsin' is preferred here. Hilarious! (as in Go Badgers!) It's a darling lily. The earwigs liked to gnaw on it this year, so it was certainly not at its finest.

Well it was Ed McRae who called it On Wisconsin. I just learned the other day that it is also Winnipeggy. I had no idea! I have a feeling ascale or two was left behind when I dug it out. Another free lily, I like that!

According to the online Lily Register, 'ON WISCONSIN' (and in all caps too[!]) is the trade designation of 'Winnipeggy.' Like the real name of Diablo ninebark is 'Monlo.' - Just an FYI for others here.

Yours does look spot on, pard.

Speaking of earwigs, I've discovered a new trap - White Henryi just opening buds. I discovered this because I would be covering the stigmas just as the buds open in the morning, for cross pollination later that day or the next. I'd find two or three earwigs inside each opening bud. They must have been drinking the nectar because there was no damage to the flower itself.

Don't think of cubits as a "move." Think of it as an addition.

Taz is my favorite cartoon character since childhood. I drew a poster of him and it hung on my bedroom wall many years. I have a Taz refrigerator magnet, but alas, I have yet to find a Taz bendie for my collection.

Maybe they are more common down under? Gee, I would reimburse with dollars or seed ...

(woooh, I see we have another cubits feature: we can upload more than one pic per post!)

This is Chocolate Canary NOT. I purchased three bulbs last fall from Summer Chase and this is what bloomed. Does anyone recognize it? I assume it is something else grown by Summer Chase and it got mixed up.

The is pretty close to true and the orientation is downfacing.
