It's time to start posting our late bloomers! My first one here is Summer's End oriental lily. These are all from one bulb that has divided over the years.

Sumatra has somehow survived a few years in the bog garden. Just one bud though.

This is a bonus oriental seedling from B&D lilies.

I am jealous. I am having 2 DG'ers to see my garden and have been holding my breath as the Altaries and Chillouts bloomed. Alas they are loosing petals as I write.
Nice to see your lat bloomers.

Mine are really getting close to done. My speciosums are budded but I doubt I will photo them they are in such bad shape from spring hailstorms and botrytis. I'm amazed that Queen Kong has been in bloom for WEEKS and still has a few blooms at the top.

Scheherazade will probably last another two weeks:

OT Lesotho finished a couple of days ago. This is the first season so just a few buds.

Same with oriental lily Maru, a genetic dwarf just several inches tall and a smaller flower to match:

How sweet is Maru ~ I may have to it get to go with Mistress. Glad you still have lilies for us to look at as mine are all done.
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket?

Chocolate, you sure do a darn good job of growing those up there. I really appreciate how you have figured out the best ways to successfully grow them.

Maru still looks like it has normal size leaves?

I think it is fairly well proportioned. I'll look at them again tomorrow but I think the leaves are smaller than my full sized orientals. The perspective may give the impression that they are normal sized leaves. The lilies in the background are Asiatics. The flowers that appear open are still filling out a bit at this point, but remain somewhat "cupped" at maturity.

How exciting Anthony. I wish we were at that point again.

I had the pleasure of going to Jo Anns yesterday, and she still had a few in bloom.

Some of her lilies look like lily trees! Do you have lily trees in Australia? The name 'lily tree' is registered, so probably not.

And this is a joke, Anthony, although I don't know if you know about the lily tree discussions. So, I don't want you to go rushing out and finding lily trees. We've been making a parody of these companies that sell 'lily trees'.

Hummmmm Lily Trees huh?
Gurneys Satisfaction is the same one I have from B&D Lilies, on the west side of the house. It was the 3rd year for it but it's only at 6 feet.It might be shadier there.
It seems any lily that grows over 6 feet could be put in that catagory.
Its amazing what marketing will do to sell the tall varieties.
I also have Species regals thet went up to 91 inches.Thumb of 2010-08-12/ge1836/065b97
Satisfaction "tree lily" ha ha ha 6 feet and bleached out with the heat and sun
Thumb of 2010-08-12/ge1836/5e1b12
This is the whole garden to compare the over 7 foot tall Regals and the 6 foot Satisfactions
