As many of you know, a week ago I received a "double fan" of a daylily that was a single fan with what wasn't much more than three leaves with no roots. I asked for advice and the consensus was to send my photo to the un-named vendor to give that vendor a chance to fix it.

Thursday, the same day I received the offending offering I sent an email with the photo I posted here. Understanding that Labor Day was upon us I hoped for a reply Friday but heard nothing. The weekend passed and by Tuesday evening I still had no response. A second email went out. By yesterday evening still no response.

This afternoon I picked up the phone and dialed. A man answered the phone and I said: "Is this Bill Maryott?"

"Yes" the voice said.

"My name is Charley and I received what I would consider an unacceptable shipment from you last Thursday. Since that time I have sent three emails regarding that shipment and have yet to receive a reply."

"I don't seem to have received any emails from you but lets look into this."

*. *. *

It turns out that for some reason, those particular emails weren't going through.

We then spent nearly an hour on the phone trying to determine what the problem was. I could reply to his emails, I could send the same email from my wife's email account, I just couldn't send it from my account.

Long story short, Bill was a delight to deal with and is sending a replacement. He doesn't know how that plant slipped through. I will be dealing with him again. All of you touting his business, and touting him as well were absolutely correct.

And now you know the rest of the story.

I sure was hoping that this would be the outcome! I'm so glad you contacted him, and it will be made right!

So happy to hear....I got my first order from Maryott's in July and was delighted with them. Bill communicated with me as soon as he got my order and promptly shipped huge, healthy fans...two of which have buds right now.

I was really concerned about the outcome, especially since Bill and Marilyn have become friends of mine. They are dear, generous, down-to-earth people.

Maryott's sounds like they put customer satisfaction and service above all else!

I have ordered from him a few times and have always had a good experience. One time a plant he sent me died. He replaced it for free with my next order. It has did well for me since. He is always generous with bonus and has returned emails and even called me. 5 stars and A+ grades for me!

My very first online order was a week ago and it was from Maryott's, mostly because of all the wonderful comments made here on ATP. I had emailed asking some questions and always got a prompt response and the tone of the email always made me feel like Bill was a nice guy (and he was very tolerant with this newbie buyer!). Sure made me feel easier about ordering daylilies online and will probably get the dl's later this week or early next week!

Vickie - I placed an order on Saturday and they should arrive sometime next week. I got a confirmation email from Maryott's today. I didn't talk to anyone on the phone, just did an online order. Mine is a small order (minimum amount). I am curious to see what they send me besides what I ordered.
