We finally had to break down after 3.75 days & close the windows & turn on the A/C about an hour ago. Decided we just wouldn't be able to sleep as warm as it was & the temp. wasn't dropping fast enough to "get us there" & there was no breeze to blow the cool in the windows.

Hopefully tomorrow evening it will cool down quickly & we can turn it off again. It's supposed to be 59 for tomorrow nights low.

Mark took the AC out of the window yesterday, and we even slept with the bedroom window closed last night for first time in ages. I think it was 41 last night, and the bedroom was nice and cold by the time we went to sleep. It was perfect!

Snow on the mountains today. Soil temperature still conducive to root growth. Hummers apparently gone for the season. Prairie dogs are entering their states of torpor. Lows in the thirties highs in the fifties.

Was 46 here this morning. The high will only be 59 today with showers starting in the evening and probably may be raining all day on Saturday.

It was chilly in the lower 40s this morning. An abrupt change after several glorious days in the 70's flirting with 80. Fall is definitely in the air though that may just be the dust I inhaled walking past some landscapers.

We're on the typical roller-coaster here. Minus 1C (30F) overnight and first thing this morning after getting up to a windy 17 C (63F) yesterday. Right now at 1 p.m. it's a balmy 6C (43F).

We woke up this morning to the beautiful sound of rain! We will probably have to drive through it tomorrow on our way to GA but we were thrilled that we are FINALLY getting some moisture.
