Great haul Dahtzu. That pink outfit and shoes are adorable.

Rolling on the floor laughing Debbie, I did get lost didn't I. I promise I will post pics later today (Tuesday). I got some really neat items for more totems. I didn't fair as well as Dahtzu, but I did find some pretties.

Debbie I don't always hit so big either, but the last 3 sales were to get excited about, like these:
Thumb of 2011-08-23/dahtzu/d43215
Not sure yet what I'll do with them, Shrug! but I got the pair for $3. and each of them have the sale tag on for $20. each.

dahtzu, those would be so pretty for Christmas with a small wreath (4 to 6") at the base of them and a red or green candle in the holder.

Ok here are my finds over the last few weeks. I tried really hard to stay focused on a theme. It's a good thing because I would have bought a whole lot more. I have to keep slapping my hands so I don't end up with a ton of stuff I don't need.

These are the ones that I put in the frog condo.

These are for my pink stackable I'm working on.

These are for my blue stackable coming next
Thumb of 2011-08-23/Debbie/76239d

The little blue tea pot will probably go into the blue stackable. The little garden girl in one of my mini gardens and the 2 eggs in my hutch.
Thumb of 2011-08-23/Debbie/777b76
The little gazebo was only 1.49 so I snatched it real quick. I didn't realize that the two precious kids inside had their little tea set and dog and it is a working music box. I love it.

Please excuse my camera this morning. It's not taking the correct colors and shades, but I was up kinda late and I don't feel like adjusting it.

I'm smiling. I wondered why there were little specks on some of the photo posts above. I thought my screen had something on it and tried to scrape it off. Then when I began to scroll, I realized what it was.

A comma. I think it's a comma between photo uploads. I was relieved to know my eyes weren't playing tricks on me! Hilarious!

(by the way, no need for commas between pics.)

Vicki anytime I go into thrift stores around here the prices are no better than Wallyworld. My treasures come from Yard Sales.

You have to know how to look for the good prices . At our Goodwill stores, they have the aisles for the knic knacs set up horizonally to the front door. The aisle's are only about 8 ft long with items on both sides. The very first one facing the front door has the higher priced items. 2.99 to 6.99. They are not bigger items or better items, just higher priced items. I think they mark the newer items coming in at a higher price. Then the second aisle prices (same kind of items) are 1.49 - 2.49 each. Third aisle drops to .99 - 1.99 each. Then the cups, saucers and glasses are .59 each. And finally the last aisle. Things are marked from .29 each to .59 each. No rhyme or reason to it. So I think they put the things back on the last aisle at a lower price, cause they have been there for a while. Guess which aisle I shop. Whistling

And our Walmarts don't have knic knacs. No tea pots, and do dads like that. Unless I just haven't found them.

I agree I've never found anything as nice as that at our thrift stores. Sad I think I need to head to the bigger cities to find some "classy" bargains! Hilarious! There is one other in town that I've never checked out though. The local hospital auxiliary runs it and I've heard there are some real nice things there. Unfortunately I've also heard those "real nice things" are usually accompanied by not so nice prices. Thumbs down

That's mostly how my GW is arranged too. Every day they have a tag color (oldest stuff) on sale for half price ... senior discount is always 10% with an additional 10% off on Thursdays for those of us over 60. Occasionally on a Saturday, everything is half price. Problem with that is that you can't see the end of the checkout line it's so busy then. Shrug!

A few recent thrift finds.

Bee skep (decorative)
Thumb of 2011-08-24/SongofJoy/76047d

I often find these windspinners (separately) for .49-.99 at GW and just start stringing them together. Shoot, I can't find a photo of the other longer one.

Put this together using an old wooden furniture leg, rock from CA, and topped with an iron snake made from a large nail. The fella at the FM who forges iron made the snake.

The slugs just recently munched the blooms off the verbena in that pot so no color for the photo ... boo, hiss). Shrug!

O Tee, I want a Bee skep. That is beautiful. And a perfect totem top. And your pot with the old wooden furniture leg gave me an idea. But, what I am seeing in the background is "mushrooms". Are the hanging? And your ball on the vase. Love it all.

Charlene those are too cute. Better be careful, cause we don't want Charlie hitting his head. Hilarious!
