SongofJoy (I love your name!!) I wonder if your little swivel piece used to have little boxes in it? I see a little discoloration on the shelves that look square. A friend had a little shelf thing like that in her kitchen and the little boxes held tea bags and sugar packets.

Good eyes, Marylyn! Yes, there are definitely discolorations on the shelves ... mostly in the midde of them. Almost like it was divided into 6 compartments by a partition in the middle or something. I am stumped. Confused

That's exactly how my friend's little "house" was. A partition in the middle with 6 drawers. I wonder why the original owner of your took the partition and boxes out and what they used it for.... I guess we'll never know for sure. Smiling

Tee, thanks much for the fun ideas! I like what you suggested and it'll get my mind thinking outside my original plans!

I love dimension too and have been looking at the faux mosaic birdhouse I crated and I have an idea for a raised grout...it needs something raised. The thread "Faux Mosaic Tutorial" in Garden Art forum

I like what you did to your front door...clever!!

T Y. I figured since the door is visible from the front YARD, it could be considered sort of a Garden Art project. The front of it anyway. Hilarious!

Marylyn, I believe you are right. Since I got the "house" at the thrift store, it is possible that the drawers fell out of it somewhere along the line and were never put back in ... or someone didn't know that they came out of it. They could still be at the GW store somewhere. Whistling

I like that faux mosaic birdhouse a lot! ModPodge is great for so many things, isn't it? Luv that stuff!

I'm starting to play around with with my swiveling faux house/window/whatever it is thrift store piece outside. Time will tell what will happen to this side of it. Rolling my eyes.

I actually had one of those wringers once and got rid of it. I could really use it now when I clean the water garden filters. Whistling

Love anything I can find to reuse for different purpose. GW and Thrift stores here don't have much and are priced about like Wall Mart.
Somewhere on this thread someone mentioned using bowls for Birdbaths. I used a ceiling light cover and a candle stick.
Easiest thing I've ever made.

Those birdbaths are great, d. I have two in my backyard but they are both store bought. I should make one or two like yours. I am big on repurposing glass lamp shades and globes for things. That new one you have is just the right depth for a birdbath. Luv it! Thumbs up

Thanks, Sharon ... blue cat. I should post it over on Cubits too. Big Grin

Love all the pics and all the cool finds, I'll be back at it tomorrow. It is now part of my weekly trip to town. I'll hit the thrift stores first before I get groceries.

Here is one of the shoes planted. Haven't done the other one yet.

I'm a bottom feeder.

69 cent knives - garden weeders and kitchen slicers.

69 cent "vases" for short-stemmed cut flowers (glass drinking glasses and shot glasses)

plastic tubs for planters

discarded pots from a nursery

a golf club as a handle for a long-handled weeder (I still need to find a cheap weeding tip to attach).

a $10 bench grinder with two stone wheels

(hoping to find 4-tube flourescent fixtrues at Habitat for Humanity)

Wow, RickCorey ... great finds! Hurray!

Robin, that shoe is wonderful! I have a small fern still in a pot ... hmmm ... gotta find an old shoe like that. That one is perfect. Fits the Victorian look totally and with the fern, a complete Victorian theme. Big Grin
