Thanks, it just kind of hit me as a feminine look. Will have to hide it when my sister comes, anything Victorian always finds it's way into her car. She has a 1915 Victorian house with all the antiques to go with it.

That victorian shoe with the fern is just about the cutest thing!! Love the idea of old light fictures for bird baths...What did you cover the hole in the middle with..A glass bead comes to mind..We use lots of them in o"Dishin' Up Art"

I haven't really gotten a handle on decorating. It took me a while to upgrade my vases from paper coffee cups and tin cans to water glasses. (Tin cans really are very stable, you know, and if you forget to change the water, you don't have to look at the slime!)



Yours are pretty! And I know I can find something similar at Goodwill.

Maybe I'll really stretch my decorating powers to try to impress my SO. But that's a vain hope! She just kind of waves her hands over the kitchen table, and suddenly it looks like Home Beautiful.

But maybe I can make her chuckle, then struggle for a straight face, then say "Why, that looks very nice, Rick!"

To fill the hole in the light cover, I used a large flat half marble. Will do the same for the next one.

Those are very pretty, dahtzu. Shoes make such great containers!

I posted these elsewhere. Baby Camo Crocs and the high heel "shoe" is a cell phone holder. Yep, they all came from the thrift store.

I also stocked up on colored candleholders, but I only used them with candles. The ones I spotted were quite low, suited to tea candles.

Notice how some are cheap, with the color just painted on, instead of being colored glass?

It's official, I'm heading to the local thrift stores on Monday to take advantage of 15% off on the 15th of the month! I usually have an idea of what I'm looking for when I go but after seeing all your thrift store "finds" I'm going to be checking out anything AND everything! A friend is taking the afternoon off to go with me so I'll have to be quick. We've got similar tastes and ideas so I'll be grabbing fast if I see anything!

We passed a "new" store this morning that was called Grandma's attic and thrift store. I'm going to have to check it out. Wouldn't it be a hoot if we could all physically get together and thrift shop together. Those store owners would never be the same!
