She reminds me of a bumble bee- really cute!

Not 100% sure of the id yet, but pretty sure this reliable bloomer is Acoma (have the real one from Leslie to compare next spring ). Definitely a workhorse in the garden.

How can anyone not covet every bloom after looking at these pictures? Except the flatties. Did not know they exist and not sure I like them.

I love the bloom of Bride's Halo, but it didn't do well for me when others were outstanding. Can't remember if I tried it a second time or not. Think it just fizzled out. I do remember showing a stalk and leaving it in water outside. Two weeks later I used the smaller new blooms in an arrangement at the next show.

Isabella Anna is really nice. Is it commercially available?

Winterberry Iris Gardens has it (at least listed it last year).

A group of Pacific Northwest Iris Growers have an annual fund-raising rhizome sale, usually in September, that is hosted on the Iris Cubit. The rhizomes are often newer ones that you can get for about $5.00 each--a great deal any way you look at it.

SDB Smart: Unfortunately it always blooms during the pine pollen bloom so I never have a picture without a touch of pine!



Smart's neighbor is one of the best growing dwarfs I have, and a favorite - Ninja Turtles:

Then we have Cat's Eye - anyone who has this iris probably has LOTS of this iris. A very fast grower. And one people always have to share!

Harvest of Memories - always a good bloomer and usually a consistent rebloomer but not this year.....hmmm


Hollywood Nights - one of my favorite dark ones


My most prolific bloomer and increaser - a white NOID -it just keeps putting out babies and blooms its heart out every year.

Well -- I'm late to the party -- and I'm not gonna try to make up for lost time -- just gonna start here.

If I'm going to *Honor the ones I have* -- then I have to start at the beginning. Here are three Irises that I ordered in my very first Iris order in 1977, and which I still have and grow in my gardens today.

Blue Reflection -- this is an Iris that I have referenced many times, and have shared with many, many people.


Here is the second Iris near and dear to my heart -- Suave:


Last is Pompano Peach:

I really love the domed standards on 'Suave'. Neal, love your (probably) 'Acoma'. Tom I think I got 'Bride's Halo' from you last year, and was delighted to see it bloom this past spring.

I always think of a dog cocking it's head when I get an Iris shot like this. Can an Iris look quizzical? This is 'Strut Your Stuff'. Just a stunning Iris.


The first time I saw 'Reckless Abandon' bloom, I laughed with delight. This Iris just says "happy" to me. Doesn't it look like it's smiling?


With high expectations, I planted 'Whispering Spirits' by my front door next to a gorgeous yellow rose. It stood up to the rose and did not disappoint.

We once grew Smart. It is the pod parent for my one arilbred cross. I decided I was too old to get into something new & should continue with the projects I had so did not keep on with those.

Linnea has sent me a rhizome so that I can see if the one on ATP and my SE are one in the same. Then we will need to find either the real Serendipity Elf or the real Melanie Baither. My Noid is still a different iris.

If the AIS is correct, then mine isn't. The rhizomes were handed to me by the hybridizer, but apparently had been mixed up. I am going to take it down. Maybe some of the correct one will spring up nearby the ones that bloomed last year.
