That person is a gardening robot from another vendor. They've been spending big this last month out bidding people. They can have the rest. God willing, there's always next year. Spent a few extra, but it felt gooood. Hope I get more good bonuses though. Glad I received Art school seeing it's going for $20. I know that's her personal baby, but that bonus just saved me $20. The named bonuses and extras pay for the prices

John, I did not get Lunch in Madrid. Grumbling the I***O person won that Iris and the other one I bid on was was Birthday Girl. I***O won that one too.
I think it was I "won" Magical and Treasured because no one else had bid on them. Hurray!
I did "buy it now" on some other Iris that Sisters had on e bay. I hope they get delivered tomorrow! I plan on potting most of them but I will probably plant Magical if they arrive tomorrow. If not received tomorrow I will probably pot all of them.

Auction bidding can get intense. Shrug! Someone that determined to get every auction on which she or he is bidding--and bids on so many of them--is probably reselling.

Yeah...(794) next to the initials it's most likely a seller, in which will over price rhizomes individually next season or this one. The robot shows to the party right before bidding ends, tries to catch you while your asleep. Shrug!

Magical is very nice. I wish the pink was a little darker, but as it survived in the AIS convention held in WI. it is hardy in the north.

Magical is a good grower and bloomer here, and the shape of the bloom is very nice!

Just won my last two overnight without touching a finger. I***O(6,000,000) did bid against me, but stopped after raising 1 bid up a dollar. I was nice enough to place a bid on theirs raising it up a buck as well Whistling after I'd seen that. 29 more rhizomes headed home +hopefully some nice randoms and bonuses. Hurray!

This was a funn ride.

It's fairly simple to sell on ebay. I don't know the small percentage they take. The best time to sell these is before Iris sisters and Cassiechug do their fall clearance. OR setup the ole' lemonade stand. Simple folk wanna see foliage vs. a rhizome. People are too lazy to see then results next year or later, they want a plant with a bloom stalk or a picture. Just my 2 cent Whistling

eBay is my part time job. I believe Buy it Now is a 12% commission rate. eBay also takes a commission on the stated shipping price; but, gives us bulk mailing prices if we use their shipping and label creation. When I price items I figure 20% to eBay, my cost for items I bought to resell, $15 per month eBay store fee, the actual cost of shipping by weight and what I want to make. When I see my fees compared to gross sale price, it comes to around 20%. Heh, I had better get the rest of my boots listed.
Don't make fear based decisions.

I looked at iris_sisters sold list. Considering there were 3 to 5 rhizomes per sale and combined shipping, the prices weren't bad at all. And y'all had a lot of fun! Hurray!

If I had even an INCH of available space, I would have been there -- right in the thick of things!!! I love Ebay! Green Grin! And I thought the prices were great -- I would have made a lot of Buy It Now purchases.....

I agree, the prices were great, Mary Ann. Would have gone for the buy it now in some cases, but my funding was still a week off and it was better for me to go the auction route. I placed my maximum bid to just under the buy it now price even knowing that, if I really wanted it, I might have to go OVER the BIN price to get it (which I did in one case). Plus, while the BIN was really good, part of why I bid is the fun of trying to get an item at the lowest possible price. Mind game, but I like to play it. Big Grin

I just now figured out that BIN meant "buy it now". All this time I thought it was a typo on bid. Hilarious! Shows you how much I use ebay.

I was nice getting the two I won at a cheaper price but with the mental harassment of bidding I'd rather Buy It Now.
They did not arrived today. Grumbling

One of the nice things about the 3 for 1 aspect of this sale was that I had two extras to trade!
And I'm getting several good ones back in trade. A winning situation!

That was my second criterion for choosing which to bid on (the first, obviously, was did I like it). Did anyone else want that particular one and, if so, did they have something I wanted in trade. Big Grin Worked out for me. Smiling
