Mailman just paid me a visit That Matt McNames was quite the steal. They're almost all the size of softballs with 7-8 extra growths per plant. 5 extra bonuses too: Comes the Dawn, Art School, Destined to Dance, Regal Knaves, and Advance to go Can't wait for the next shipment to arrive. These gals rock!
yadah_tyger said:Thanks for the photo of the rhizomes. They look great. They look even bigger than Schreiners. Mine are still on the way, left Oregon Thursday.
I have others from them even bigger I didn't picture. Plus random extras on top of bonuses.
Look great, Gabriel!!! I am getting even more excited about mine. If I can just be patient enough to wait until these two auctions finish...heck, who am I trying to fool, I only have five patient bones in my body and they are on assignment.
OMG!!!! I wish I hadn't looked!!! I ran outside to see where I might lose something that I could justify buying a replacement for. Now I'm sitting on my bid fingers and really really (really) trying not to go for it. I would def. have to overwinter in pots - way to cold here already.
My logic was this:
I can buy it next year for 12.00 from Sisters, so 3 times 12.00 equals 36.00 so if I got it for 36.00 great. Then I would have it for an extra year for new growth to take place and a larger clump sooner.
The same person outbid me on Picture Book and Lunch in Madrid. Whoever this person is has A LOT of bids on A LOT of Iris.

Might be a different seller looking for stock. Or someone just starting up a garden. Or...well, you never really know with auctions since they started masking the bidder IDs. Used to be you could figure it out for the most part. Maybe Sisters will drop the price next year as compensation.
Cassiechug added more...again. I scooped Raging Tide and In Living color before anyone bid . Now I'm chopping my credit card and killing my PayPal account and going back to bed. This is insane. None of this is worth jack if they don't survive the winter though. Happy purchase war everyone!
