Barbalee said:Good luck, Sabrina! I'll be interested to hear how it works as the root looking thing seems to be at the same level as the bud. Keep us posted!

There weren't roots, there's only that green bud. In water the scape start to show some sign of mold but that green thing is still growing, it seems a little leaf is perking out. So I put it in a pot. Still no roots for now, we will see!

These are in Kathleen's kitchen which she wasn't real happy about
until I told her they were worth about $100 each, she agreed to let
me keep them there until this rain stops. They would normally
be out side in the shade it wasn't flooding.

After the roots are big enough (about an inch) I pot them in one
gallon pots and will start feeding them in about two weeks.

Fred, what is the diameter of a gallon pot? I am forgetting what imperial measures are.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

I put them on the window sill about a week ago, the four largest were on one scape and already looked like new fans before I trimmed them and put them in cups. I also change the water every two days or every day if it gets funky looking. I will feed them a liquid fertilize (16-4-8) (foliar spray) every two weeks after I see substantial growth after potting. They will already have a slow release in the pot.

The pots are a full gallon, not a trade gallon, measures 8" across the top.

Liz - I think that may be more unusual than common. I had several buds on one of my prolifs and unfortunately broke it off by accident. So I never got to see how the bloomed looked growing from a prolif still on the original scape. Please share a photo when it blooms! Thumbs up

Oh! Look at that bloom! Very cool. I am so mad at myself for knocking the budding scape off my prolif before it could actually bloom. I suspect mine would have been a red bloom as well. Thanks for posting the photo! Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

The prolif I had on Spartacus Adorned bloomed well. But I waited too much and the prolif died.

Today I found a small one on Little Show Stopper. It seems some root is there so I potted it.

Oh, sad on 'Spartacus Adorned,' Sabrina! What do you mean on "waited too much"? Waited for what?
