Lobster has no flavor. At least not to me. That's why you dip the meat in drawn butter. Sort of like popcorn. The butter is good though.

It is to me. One of our most special meals is salted popcorn, drizzled with butter and the drink is.................Champagne. You would be surprised how great Champagne is with salted, buttery popcorn. I must admit, we are pretty simple-folk. Whistling

I had to work this afternoon and didn't get a lunch, so I'm headed home to eat way too much of something.

We have a bag of Alaska King crabs but just didn't feel like cleaning up the mess after dinner so had something else instead.

About my Crab Claws (Heliconia rostrata)...no blooms right now. But I did find nice clusters of fruits on my star fruit tree and a couple of fruits on my breadfruit tree. Green Grin!

I love breadfruit, even with all of its starchy blandness, but I also love potatoes and plain bread, so...

It's prefect filler for casseroles and such. Thumbs up

Oh, James! Then you haven't tried ripe breadfruit that has a sweet flavor. We roast the breadfruit whole on open fire/grill, blackening the rind, then cut open and apply a generous amount of butter. Mm-mm...delicious!

I've only had it twice, so maybe it wasn't quite ripe when I had it. I've only had it baked. That sounds good though.

We can pick sour sop and sweet sop just before they fall off the tree and "nunuk" them until they ripen. I don't think this will work with breadfruit...they will just get "lamas" and rot. So...next time you get hold of a breadfruit try this...place in your vegi crisper in the refrigerator surrounded with ripe apples. The ethylene gas emitted by the apples may cause the fruit to ripen. Green Grin!

My bougainvillea is NOT happy! I got tired of it not being trained, and I should have been patient and waited for it to stop blooming so profusely, but I staked it and disturbed the roots D'Oh! Now it is dropping petals left and right and drooping leaves. Uggghhh... I love them, but they are SO finicky! I guess it's time to move it off to the shade and let it freak out and throw it's tantrum in the corner.

This same thing happened last year because I up-potted it in the spring to a slightly larger pot. I thought it was going to take a full year to bounce back, but by mid-summer she was happy again. I'm hoping that it's still early enough that it will rebloom before fall. This is why I prefer Plumeria...they are trees and act like trees. They're sturdy and easy to work with. Very forgiving plants.

I have heard that Bougainvillea don't like their roots disturbed, but I can tell you for sure that once planted in the ground they are hard to kill. I cut one off at the ground 4 years ago, and poured strait RoundUp on the cut. This only had about a 2" trunk. I'm still spraying It a couple of times a year. Sighing!
