I have a lot of solar spot lights and regular solar lights too. There are a lot of beautiful "fairy" solar lights in Old Time Pottery but it has the switch on and off that easily breaks. So I didn't buy them.

I have a few solar lights for outdoors that have switches, but I never use the switch... I just leave them on all the time, so the switch never breaks.

Is this the switch with the soft rubber?

A few are the soft rubber that you push in, and a few have the harder plastic switch that you slide up or down. If I bother to put out solar lights, I just leave them on, it's not like they're so bright they would bother the neighbors at all.

Good to know. I thought you have to turn it on and off to charge.

No, the switches only turn the light part on or off, it doesn't affect the solar charging in any way.

I see, a separate solar panel to capture the light, I thought the solar panel is at the back of the butterfly.

Btw, I got cheated on those solar powered light long time ago, actually the solar panel was not functioning in charging at all, there were some button shaped batteries inside and the led light consume the power from the batteries until the batteries fully drained. Since the led lights consume very less power, the batteries can last for quite some time. And this was confirmed by the seller / trading companies in China who sells those. Not all solar lights of course, the cheaper ones.. Glare

Ok now that the solar light on/off switch saga is settled…I never turn mine off except when bringing them in for winter storage. They are fun cheap and some don't last that long.. I've had some last a few years some don't. I have had many different solar light gifted over the years. There are some new styles out really cool that caught my attention so who knows the holidays are just around the corner.
I could also add the Tiki lights are very well made and have lasted 4 years now they all work like a charm… the on/off switch is different than the smaller lights and are left on all summer.
