I think I've broken off all current, active threads- splitting them at the Jan 1st mark, but if there's one I've missed, please let me know.

My apologies @Trish I meant to include the 1/1/2016 date in addition to the link to your original post.

Sorry for any confusion, folks.

Rosie, I copy and paste links to recipes, starred pages for plant info, etc. and send that info to a single on-site mail box, like tree-mail. I am more a "quick note to self" sort than a blog or diary person. That is just a preference for me. Smiling

Jean, excuse if I am dense.

But with the new start to the threads, I want to be sure I save successfully the areas I have tagged. So, my question is..if you go back and copy the link to a thread that you have marked by pressing the yellow star....and then you paste that link information into a tree mail ....if those threads are erased come April 1...won't you be unable to retrieve later? The link will have nothing attached..it will be erased. Is this not so?

I am thinking that I need to go to the saved starred threads and expand those completely (not just the link info) and copy the entire thing..and paste the information somewhere.,

Dear @Trish and @Moonhowl and other posters and lurkers on this thread and the 'After Mutiney a Safe Harbor' thread.

A humble request from me that these two threads each started in December 2015 not be taken down or cleared from this great Sandbox in this year's Spring cleaning and be allowed to remain until next year (perhaps as 'closed' threads that float on down?)

The reason for these two threads still exists and the crisis is ongoing and has not abated. These threads remain a beacon and an anchor in stormy seas. There are others afloat and adrift who may find in these two threads a profound sense of what ATP has to offer well beyond genus and species.

Through these two threads, I have come to know many whom I look forward to playing and chatting and exchanging gardening info with outside of the sandbox! I feel 'introduced to you all in a deeper way then posting in an other forum would have yielded ...

Pretty please let them remain, not to prolong , but to preserve.

Thank you, MM

MM,
I'm willing to do so, since they were started in Dec.
However, they'll be gone for the 2017 cleanup (assuming that I get to that Whistling The cleaning up thing is so theoretical, you know!)

Rosie you are correct in that pasting a link for a post or thread that no longer exists will net you zero.
You are also correct that you need to go to the saved starred threads and expand those completely (not just the link info) and copy the entire thing..and paste the information somewhere. However, it seems now you have until 2017 to do that on this thread but you know the old saying...... "Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today". Smiling

@MISSINGROSIE I have a folder in my word documents where I keep special articles, etc. from ATP. If someone posts a recipe that I think I would like to try, I have a separate recipe folder for that, too.

Thank you Trish! I'm just slightly embarrassed to say I feel relieved and a lot giddy!

Nothing theoretical about Spring cleaning in my growing up household. Some how my Mom always picked a perfect day and the whole family pitched in to wash all th wood work, clean all the windows, change out storms for screens, shake or beat all the rugs, change out and wash the bedding, line dry it and put heavy blankets in the chest, and flip all the mattresses! At the end of the day we were all tired, but the house smelled so good from all the fresh air! We really put away the 'old year' and brought in the new Spring. Every thing seems better with some sunshine on it. Even the porch and front steps got wiped down.

Has anyone been able to log on to DG since their system maintenance yesterday? I was able to log in before (even though my subscription has expired) but not since the update.

I just tried and had no problem but my subscription is good until September.

Nobody is mentioning log on problems just the usual complaints about not getting timely responses from administration and disappointment because for whatever reason it was conveyed that there would be improvement on that front.

Hmm - I'm using a different computer than normal but just can't get my log-in to work. No great loss for me - finalizes the separation.
