Were they only going to make one calendar. Did anyone without a PO Box get one?

No idea.
I think others got calendars..I know some were late...perhaps some on time too. I do not know.
The winner could have provided an alternative address had he known there was an issue ..he got silence and that is what drove him to inquire on the forum.

They never sent calendars before the end of the year, I always got mine later, late Jan. or Feb. I think.

I got one this year, with a handwritten card thanking me for my contributions on DG. Blinking
I am listed as an Uber there, which really doesn't mean much, just that you contributed a lot of photos to the PlantFiles and now have the privilege of approving pending PlantFile images. I also used to do the Bloom of the Day but quit that a long time ago when my repeated requests for some organizational fixes were ignored. So basically, I have not 'contributed' anything over there for probably a couple of years now. But hey, thanks for the pretty calendar! Too bad they can't get one to the truly deserving person who has the cover image. If I hadn't already written on mine I would have sent it to him!
It's a shame he's being ignored!

What makes them remain in the face of being ignored and blatently lied to?

Indeed, what? Beats me. I stayed for a long time for the people, but even though I peeked in yesterday, I've not posted anything there in a couple of months. My subscription would have expired in July, but they've extended the agony until August. Is there any way to get them to remove me entirely from their list of members? I doubt it.

Maybe if you send a direct message to admin asking that they do that. That's what I did years ago. After that, I ceased to exist there, except for all my previous posts & pics.

VAnn, do you know how many former members got thrown off due to talking about politics and religion and getting involved in petty skirmishes? They totally disappeared. That would be a way to go down in flames..... Sticking tongue out

Increased names on member list = increased income from advertisers.

I can for sure believe that there were folks tossed...but did they actually disappear from member lists? That would surprise me but would mean another bad business decision, Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

I'm surprised that I haven't been thrown off. I've not got a clue how many are gone.

That's why I'm surprised I haven't been tossed as I've mentioned ATP a number of times.

I've been periodically tracking the subscriber count. As of yesterday the count was 1993, down 71 in the past 60 days. That's 3.5% drop in 2 months, or about a 21% drop over 12 months if people let their subscriptions lapse at the same rate all year. The site is rapidly losing sufficient participants to keep any subscriber only threads active.

I had no idea. Is it the same if garden web is mentioned?

I was invited to ATP years ago by DG folks ... Some were still valued members of DG. Still posted / connected on DG...I guess I missed the problem ...maybe that was cubits back then......regardless, it was another garden site. I can't imagine the owners/ investors of IB giving a rat's fanny or why they even would. I guess I picture them as ...anonymous suits counting pennies.

Well would you come here in a public forum and say "hey everyone, come join me at a better garden site or I went somewhere else"? It's just bad form, drawing members away from the site to somewhere else.
And don't think you are safe going to d-mail, despite claims, it's not totally private. I know from first hand experience. Glare My subscription had lapsed a long time ago and I was conversing with someone a d-mail. She sent a link to an image from a thread for a subscriber only forum. I couldn't open it because of being a non subscriber so I told her so. In less than 24 hrs I had a notice of a gift subscription. I assumed the person I was talking to paid for it. As soon as I asked her, she switched to our private emails, we were both upset because she didn't pay for it. And no one can convince me it was just a coincidence, rumors have been flying around for a while.

I think eventually it will all be free --the garden threads ...and the non garden threads will die a natural death. Don't think those will be "officially" canceled.

No ..that is bad form but I see nothing wrong with saying .."hey I found another great site with garden info." "there is a great thread on garden arbors" Joining a second site doesn't mean leaving the first. Hospitals are fierce competitors...for patients and services...we had employees that worked at both...the docs attended at both...joint educational programs for the community were offered... Our students had clinicals at both.. The collaboration made each stronger. I just think there is no justification for expulsion.
