Finally, finally mulched the potatoes. Picked a gallon of peas--probably the last real picking, since I don't see any more blossoms, but there are some babies yet to grow. Pea season is probably over by mid next week.

Enjoy! It's so nice to see how someone's always gardening somewhere.

Oh one other thing: I said hello and farewell to my first ever tomato hornworm. It was a big one, too. I'll have to keep an eye out. It was on my peas.

Edited to add: I had to look it up, since I've never seen a hornworm here. It wasn't a hornworm, it was a purplish-brown looper--which looks nothing like a hornworm, actually. Oops.

I was just going to say that it would be doubtful that a hornworm would be on the peas.

My trellis netting for that last run of pole beans came today. I have been waiting for it to arrive for days. I unpacked it and sorta stretched it out there on the poles just to see how it will look. Will be perfect and tomorrow I will tie it onto the posts and then plant beans along in there.

Had to water today and weed front yard gardens so no time to get more done as that took me a long time. But it needed it and looks much better. As the daylilies will soon bloom, I didn't want it all weedy in that bed.

Some bean seeds came. Among them the French Gold so I was able to plant those. Only planted 10-12 seeds there on my contraption poles where I intend to grow them.

I planted two cellpacks of melon seedlings that I grew myself and were ready to get in the garden. Avara and Tasty Bites. I have those already but filled in the empty spots in the rows.

Tomorrow I have a cellpack of summer squash to plant and of course more beans.

We got about 2" of rain today. I was busy trying to make sure my remaining plants to be-planted are not drowning

It was a cool, gloomy, dismal day. Hope tomorrow is better. Shrug!

You and I are due for rain, Rita! It will begin to rain heavily, per WU, at noon for you and 3 PM for us.

Funny thing is that we really did need some rain--just not 2+ inches in 12 hours. Sighing!

Pretty much rainy here all day (but not nearly that much!) too -- so we went shopping, LOL.

Rita, I'm glad your trellis netting finally arrived Smiling .

I agree Me too. I was really wondering why it took forever to get here. But when I mail came I had started weeding out front and I was committed to doing that job and wasn't going to stop. So I didn't get to put up the netting and plant the beans.

It is raining now but a nice light rain. But I did watch the weather news tonight and yikes, lots of rain coming tomorrow. Maybe the early part of the day might be nice enough to get my netting up and plant beans. If not I guess it will wait till Monday.

Lots of rain watered the garden for me today so that was good. Tomorrow I get back to the planting.

Have lots of bean seed planting planned.
