Uh Uh ... NO Way .... I will have to pass on that offer. Green Grin!

Well, truly I'd love to take a vacation someday to see snow again but I sure don't want to have to shovel it, I just want to sit inside by the fire and gaze out the window at all the white stuff ... maybe venture out for a couple of minutes to make a snow angel or build a snowman ... but then I'd need to buy longjohns, boots, gloves and a heavy hat and coat. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing I'm in shorts, t-shirt and bare feet right now.

I have several layers on and am sitting inside watching the sleet, snow and freezing rain all come down together. It is flat out nasty out there.

There don't seem to be many wrecks in the city but out here by me there are wrecks everywhere. The interstate is being treated but hard to fight freezing rain and sleet.

Pictures of the snow and birds. Have at least an inch of just snow alone and quickly working on another.

I really love those snow photos, especially the second one with the American flag against all that white flurry and then the third picture with the Cardinals ... so pretty! We've been 15 - 20 degrees above normal here in Florida the past couple of months and broke another record today with a high of 84º but a cold front is heading our way and should cool us down a bit. Our highs this coming weekend are only supposed to be in the 60's which is about normal for this time of year.

Have a mish mash of who knows who coming at us from the south.
Once it reaches Lake Superior, it'll decide whether to move on to snow us in, or, slide east and go to Toronto, about 1200 miles east of us ..

Best go bunkies in case I have to shovel in the morning .. the wood piling this afternoon was strenuous enough Crying

@MarilynneS - Brr ... it sounds like a good day for baking in your neck of the woods! It's currently 78ºF and humid here where I live; we're supposed to break another record with a high of 84º again today. Since I got the lawn mowed yesterday, maybe today is a good day to stay inside in the air conditioning and bake too! Smiling

Marilynne, did you get much snow? On the Weather Channel map it looked like it was kind of breaking up as it went over us and hit L. Superior on its way to you...

Today was cool and sunny and I was so tickled to see the sun after so many days of either rain or cloud cover, bleak gray muggy days in December...tonight it started sprinkling and we will have a 100% change of thunderstorms and rain by morning.

Oh Joy.... Rolling my eyes.

I'm missing where I grew up, always do when winter comes!! I've been in Colorado since 2001 and I miss Las Vegas, NV every winter!! 10 F now, at least no snow in the 10 day forecast. We are already at half of the total for the winter snow and our snowiest month is in March! Just received a catalog from One Green World to give me that wonderful reminder I'm in zone 5!! Not 8 for my beloved pomegranates. Crying Oh well!

Morning all. Thoughts and prayers for all those facing weather related challenges to life and limb and property habitat.

Either winter is a month and a half late or spring is a month and a half early or some other fruit basket upset combination of weather events and patterns whose name has not yet been coined.

Here temps still 20 - 30 degrees above average. Haven't turned on furnace yet. Have forsythia blooming for third week, joined by Flowering Quince, Abelia and cherry and plum trees. No telling what would be blooming if we had sun along with those temps! Yes, gloomy here, also.

We're supposed to have temps in the low 30s (F) and SUNSHINE this coming weekend! Hurray!

Unless that changes, of course... Hilarious!

wedwacker where does your 'cleared' snow go? Friends from little town in UP Mich say that if you don't have a second story on your house you don't see any sunfor the winter for all the piled up snow! Snow cleared from the streets has to be trucked to the park or the school athletic fields

Wichita had sleet and freezing rain night before last. ABC National news said Wichita looked like a junkyard due to all the wrecks. They were absolutely right to. People act like they're driving in bumper cars rather then real cars and trucks. We are at 28° right now with the light freezing fog. The sun is supposed to come out later today. Here's hoping it does.

So many deaths from tornados and flooding this passed week. Hope the Mighty Mississippi goes easy on those living along its water courses. Any reports from the Texas panhandle?
