I was wrong, I thought a thread starter could change the title later on. I can do it as mod.
This little Platystele stenostachya fell of its mount last Summer, so I had anchored it with a bit of Coconut fiber in this shallow dish and I realized today this thing is in bloom. The individual blooms are in the mm range, super tiny.
V. Hiroshima Choice 2nd spike blooming. Much better and more colorful than the first.
Cattleya coccinea x Cattleya mooreana. An unregistered cross that I got from Ecuagenera. The bloom is a month old and I LOVE it. I'm going to see if I can register it with RHS.
I would think you did just fine with your camera!
Those red spikes this time of year are certainly showy!
I love the Vanda, without looking it up, it surely is a cute Neo x.
Beautiful blooms, Melissa! That Cattley cross is a winner. Good luck on getting her registered.
Cool, overcast and light rain all day. Good news is that I got my computer back from the Geek Squad after they removed a ton of malware. They said Kapersky or similar programs only remove about eighty percent of the malware that comes to your computer. Maybe we should only pay them eighty percent of their annual fee?!

Jim, Did they recommend anyone else...aside from themselves? I know MacAfee is having issues with IE 10, but , on the rare occasions I log on to DG I get the warning from them, and have gotten a couple of warnings on ATP also. I'm not sure that malware is avoidable these days with all sites selling your info for ads. It seems the more technology we develop , the less secure we are.
You're right, Carol, malware is unavoidable. That's why the Geek Squad and others make so much money. Every year my computer slows down to a crawl and I have to haul it in for repairs. Kind of like my body.

Hm, I haven't had any problems that way - I'll ask my private geek squad what we're using for anti-virus software.
I do know that they're both going to ask "who's still using IE as a browser?" though. That might be part of the problem. We graduated to Firefox years ago, and from there to Chrome now.

The little lawn orchids, Zeuxine strateumatica, are blooming now. They are weedy and pop up every few years then disappear for a time. They are short lived and I don't mind them in the lawn or groundcover. I put a few in pots to watch them.
NOID Den is much happier in a fancy new pot. Sadly I broke the long flowering stem but it looks good in water. If it didn't have so many flowers I would lay it on some moss and root it. You can't see it in these photos but I did mix neem with cinnamon and painted the black spots. It looks like I dripped chocolate syrup on it in places. LOL Interestingly, this plant has been in the kitchen since I bought it a few weeks ago. Another den I have in the bathroom is starting to get the same black spots. There has been no contact between the plants at all. I have not touched either one without washing my hands.

My big Dendrobium should ever have such large, green and glossy leaves! Eventually they turn color and drop. Those black spots might need more sun and better ventilation?
Alice, the Zeuxine is adorable. This is a new one for me!
Ursula, thank you, with the exception of those spots on the canes it is a healthy looking plant. The other one in the bathroom gets plenty of light, it is beside a large, south facing window and there is a 4' sky light directly above it. The bathroom is 10' x 12, so it is not a cramped room, it is actually the brightest room in the house. Although, we have had unusually high humidity for the past few weeks, usually in the 95% - 97% range. We were running the AC to get some of the moisture out of the house. I thought I was going to get mildew myself. Fortunately it is chilly today and will be cold tonight (30's) and tomorrow night so it is a little drier. Back to the 70's by the end of the week.
Around here people yank those Zeuxines out of their lawns but I think they are such cuties.

Ardesia, your den is beautiful. I love the large white flowers. Lowes no longer carries beautiful plants like those anymore. They don't even carry the bare root orchid packages they used to when I was not into growing plants.

Keep an eye out when the weather gets warm, though Deborah. They may only stock them in the warm months when they don't have to worry about keeping them outside in the garden center. Lowe's here has orchids all year 'round so they certainly have a source, and they do buy them.

I love that tiny Platystele, Ursula! The Zeuxine is beautiful! I wouldn't pull them out either, unless it was to pot some! The white Den is so pretty too Alice, and I love the red Stenorhynchos Melissa, it almost looks like a bromeliad!
I did a little scouting around my yard today with camera in hand and here is what I came up with:
Jim, you need to check your Jimminey Cricket too...this is the one I bought ion our Apopka trip:
