Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

I just love it when the seedlings start to sprout.

My tomato seedlings are doing quite well so I am pleased.

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! I tip my hat to you.

Well, I often get something on inpulse.

My tomato seedlings are doing very well. Some more of my basil is sprouting. And today I also sowed a cell pack each, one of turnips and one of golden beets. I don't have much room so I think that will be plenty of little seedlings. Or at least it should be.

I am really doing well with my garden this year.

I am planning on starting my own summer squashes and cukes and melons. I might do that this week.

Impulse buying always gets me into trouble. Once I picked up "Red Brandwine" I knew I was in trouble.

Brandywines have always dissapointed me and I have tried lots of different ones. But I am trying again. I started seed of one called Cowlick's Brandywine. It is one of the superior strains of Brandywine. We will see.

I don't feel bad or guilty about ripping out any tomato if it doesn't taste as I wish it would.

There was an article in today's paper that said the peach growers may have lost this year's crop here in CT because of the minus 15, & minus 10 nights in Feb. The article also said it was too early to plant peas....Oooops....that ship has sailed here! I always heard plant by St. Paddy's Day.....maybe that's for the south!

I also planted mine but only about a dozen. Then, according to Burpee, wait 10 more days to plant more; repeat.

I thought St. Patrick's Day was for planting potatoes.

So here is my lust of Zucchini, yellow zucchini and summer squashes I will be planting. I set up my sell packs this afternoon, filled and labeled them.

I intend to have 6 plants each of the first two in the list and 3 of all the others. This will make 48 plants. I think that will do. Hilarious!

Anyway the pattypans are new for me, I have never grown them before. Many of the others are old favorites that I do grow each year.

Magda
Sunburst
Y Star
Flying Saucer
Caserta
Cavilli
Italian Harvest
Golden Egg
Zephyr
Gold Rush
Sunstripe
Poquito
Saffron
Green Tiger

So I was gonna put my seeds in tomorrow.

Won't be planting anything here just yet...got a major snow storm in the cards for the first day of spring.

Some models showing 5-8 inches, others up to a foot+ this coming Sunday into Monday.

Yes, this coming snow event seems to have snuck up on the weather forecasters.

I am planting inside under lights so the outside weather will not really matter.

Our landscaping company had already started doing spring cleanups...now i get to spend tomorrow taking sideboards off the dump trucks so we can put our sand/salt machines back in plus get all the plows back out of storage and get them back on the trucks. Pita.

It sure doesn't seem fair and right! I agree
