Ken, What ever you have used in articles is good. It is what this site ATP bases it's theories on and who am I to argue.
I have seen much of this with the Cacti & Succulents also.

I am used to using the species names with the groups that I have belonged to for so long and then we each know what one is speaking of.

May not be politically correct, but I don't stress over it.

Boy, Rick, if there has ever been a politically incorrect person, that would probably be my label. At my age, I don't have to worry any longer about such nonsense. I do like to be correct when I post something though.

I will not wrap them Rick. I just put some paper in front of them. When the sun does shine.
For how long do I have to do that before they will be adjusted to the sun? I hope they will leave out soon. Look forward to it too.
I did notice on the other forum that someone did buy trees from Sundaram. She did even buy quite a lot.

You sunlight intensity probably is not that high right now as apposed to the summer, but better to be safe. Also the glass in window could magnify sunlight.
Just leave the paper there for reduced length of time for a couple weeks. Could be less, but it will not hurt to be cautious.
Yes, there is a person that acquired quite a few trees from same source as you did. I am happy for both of you, as I believe you will enjoy them. Nice to have a larger tree and your seedlings coming up behind.

I do not have the paper in front of it now. The sun is not shining. So now I can Enjoy all the light it can get. When I am gone from home I Will put if in front just to be sure. Although the forecast is very bad. So I think it Will not be necessary. It sure is nice to have some bigger trees that hopefully Will bloom this summer, and to have the seedlings to grow into big trees.
It is also nice that the big ones are different types. I especially did ask him that.

Looking good, Willeke. Really nice looking trees. With your Arabicums. Don't raise them when you repot like we do with the obesums.
I am sure you will not be repotting these any time soon.
You will enjoy these so much.

Thanks Rick. Why do you not have to raise these! If I may ask. Is there a reason for that?

Willeke, It is not that you cannot raise them. The Arabicums have natural genetics to grow wide in a horizontal plain. So, raising is not needed as often.
Keeping the tree in a pot with adequate width to allow it to keep growing this way (wide in caudex) is important as to not restrict it from doing so.
You should see this over the summer as it grows.

I don't have any Arabicums (right, @Ursula?). Perhaps I will venture out and do some trading for some of those. Thumbs up

What are we calling an adequate pot width. Does the depth matter for happy Arabicum's. Will they stay in this pot for awhile since they are slower growing then obesum?
