I'm too new to collecting irises to really have favorites, though I am somewhat partial to ones with blue-lavender and/or purple in them. (With DH, it is all purple, the darker the better.) I do have a fair number of whites, but that's partly because of the Moon Garden.

That said, though, I have grown to really like 'Afternoon Delight'... which is basically a golden tan. Maybe it's because of the lavender in it? Confused

Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

If my Afternoon Delight is ready to be divided I'd be happy to share it with you Polymerous.

I find that I am always drawn to irises with a spray pattern on the falls, spreckles, dots, what have you.

That is why I am looking forward to the maiden blooms of my new additions that fit this category.

(Thanks Brad!)

Bruneau's partner in crime is Owyhee Desert - a super favorite of mine:

Owyhee Amethyst is the lavender version and I am dying to get my hands on it. ** please let me know if any of you come across it! **

This is why I love Wild Jasmine - because it is the parent of the Owyhees.

Just sitting here drooling, Leslie. I have a couple of those -- but am sadly lacking the others. I need to do something about that. I haven't even seen a picture of Owyhee Amethyst -- and I want it too!!! Whistling

Polymerous,

By the way you are not restricted to what you already grow.

Debra,

Wild Jasmine is one of my very favorites. I can see why you want Owyhee Amethyst. Have you ever contacted the hybridizer?

That's a pretty thing Leslie. Reminds me very much of Vapor -- which I already have! Big Grin Usually I'd add a picture here. Since my Iris info is database-interruptus, I can't. But my photos are in the ATP database.

And I love Vapor too! I have been meaning to buy it for years. Last year it got bumped by Elizabethan Age.

Unfortunately Lucille Pinkston has passed or I would be requesting many from her. I think a lot of them were sold in Canada, but haven't found a vendor for any except Owyhee Desert and Bruneau Jasper.

My bad, I did get Vapor too last year thanks to Wild Iris Rows. *Blush* *Blush* I knew I had gotten more in that spray pattern. I just got too darn many last year period.

Two summers ago when I was in the "Paddy Wagon" I got so many irises, that I find it hard to remember what's what. It didn't help that the rot took lots of the bloom last year so I still haven't seen most of them. Even though they are all listed in my data base, it's going to be a lot of surprises when they start blooming this summer, assuming they will. I am worried, as we had about 4 inches of frozen rain a while back, and that has turned into one large mass of ice. I hope things aren't smothering under that. Speaking of ice, I took a nasty fall on it tonight, stressing my already bad wrist. Grumbling
