You may have heard my "Guttural verbal response" all the way down in Texas. Angry Maybe you just thought it was thunder. Hilarious!

Owww. Sorry about the spill Tom.

And yes Debra, I am not buying as many this year. I have no control over the share boxes Thank You! so I will control the buying end. The one thing that is definitely different this year: last year I got a ton of Blyths, and this year I am rounding up interesting Burseens. They grow sooooo well here that I am happy with that indulgence. Less overall buying gives me time to assess the growth of those I have too.

I hope you are ok, Tom. I go for what will fit into my breeding programs. A friend is not longer breeding plicata SDBs so perhaps I will do a couple crosses. He is the only one working on iris cristata. Most of them have been collected. Nice to have someone work at them.

Thanks for your concern, I'm OK, but my wrist is a bit sore.

Heavily sleeting right now. Have also had snow and freezing rain and the day is early. I am doing everything that needs power now (laundry, baking) in case we lose it soon.

I have posted everything but the color I said was probably my favorite! Yes, reds.

Just so you get an idea, here are the reds I ordered/was gifted last year (does go on a bit) :

Thanks Arlene!

And this doesn't even include all the bicolored, etc, such as the lovely Lady Leigh, or Brilliant Disguise, Indian Chief, Infernal Fire, Mono Mania, Plot Line...and so many more. Yes, a whole lot of red!

And this doesn't include the reds I already had either, including Grateful Red, War Chief, Dynamite, Tom's Infamous Red Noid..... whew!

All beautiful, Leslie. I loved the picture of Bev's Babe. It's one I keep intending to get -- and keep not. Gotta do something about that.

I was really happy to see it on Dee's sale list last year. So of course I had to get it!

Smart thinking, Leslie. Hope the power stays on, though. I have a red on my list to share with you this year. Smiling

Anything from Plum, Purple, lavender, to pink are my favorites. Irises with gold or vivid edging trumps all. I pefer to call them crowns;also don't know the correct term. Some of these are very similar, but I don't care and will get them all in time.

Just some, but ya'll get the point. Also when I attempt this hybridizing mumbo jumbo these will be the styles I'm looking for. This will hopefully be my signature. Ps Sutton's has a bunch of nice gold and yellow edged 2016 intros.
Gimme it and I'll grow it!

Rio Rojo is my all-time favorite red -- Leslie you'll love it!!

Gabe -- those are some choice Irises right there -- you'll have a lot of fun hybridizing from them!! Thumbs up

Gabriel - I can't believe it, I have just about either ordered or will put on order the ones you just posted. They are my favorite style. I figured they would make great cross material. Another one you want is Decadence. I put 4 on order so I can cross it with many of the ones I have.

I also want to take one of them and back-cross it with one of it's parents to see what will happen. I'm way too old to do any serious work. But you, on the other hand, have a whole lifetime ahead of you.

Folks, if you have the time, take a look at Gabriel's last message and post pictures of other Iris of like form. I know Plot Line is another one I already ordered.

Thanks & Blessings

Lovely reds, Leslie!! I bought Bev's Babe last year from Napa Iris, but it hasn't bloomed yet.

Tom - Glad to hear you're feeling o.k. and that the wrist is just sore, not broken! I am walking very
gingerly around the property because of slick muddy spots - also glad they're not icy!
