Hi Allison and everyone, the tree guys just left. They were there to take down six old locust trees that one went down and five were damaged by Irene. They finished in the rain so they could move on since more storms are headed in our direction. They are still trying to catch up from the damage Irene did here.I paid the bill and then watched the latest weather. I think I will run and hide if another one hits. We still have a few more trees to go, but insurance did not cover the other ones. What can I say? Nothing compared to people who lost everything. Someone watched over us for sure.
We were so lucky there was no flooding in this immediate area. I am near Joint Force Bases McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and some people on base just got their electric back. We had ours after 19 hours. I hate not having a potty or a shower all that time. Buckets are remaining filled until the season is over this time I swear.......plus we do have generators working now.
The greenhouse is full and ready to be wrapped again if necessary. Never put any plants back outside since the last one so I can be ready in a matter of hours if another one decides to pass by. Take care all of you and thanks for sharing the pictures. They are wonderful.
Allison, your area is under a flood watch again isn't it? My daughter works in Trenton and she was talking to me when she got to work this morning and she made the comment that at least the river is not over its banks today............pretty bad when you never know what to except from those waters. Scary for all those who live in the area.
