I picked up 2 hanging baskets few weeks ago. One scabiosa, the other calibrachoa. Both looked horrid. BUT - I now have it down to a science determining which I know will recover and those destined for the compost heap. But not to worry at Lowes. If your salvage plant dies, take it back and get a refund.

BTW - the calibrachoa basket is stunning now!

... they recognize you by name at the discount plant rack.

... you buy more plants than you have space to plant them ... then go out and buy more.

My driveway right now has them strewn all over. hehe And behind my Greenhouse. OMG!
Of course you can never find what you really need. I want desperately to have the trays that have 10 or twelve ares and hold pint size. This is my favorite for potting up seedlings. Of course, I have used them all up.

David, start taking over neighbor's driveways for more potted plants.

Bromeliad Mend on clearance rack at Lowe's, guess because of the brown spots on the leaf. $5, bigger than the $14.98 plants they had in stock (I did cut the brown leaf off)


This pretty pink perwinkle was another great deal, also Lowe's, but that was months ago, as you can see for 50 cents it has turned into quite a beauty.

You're my kind of plantaholic. Lovely gardens. Good deals on the rescues.

What a wonderful jungle!

Hmmm... I've had people call me and ask where I am and I hedge the question a bit... "out..." and they say suspiciously.. "Where?" and I say ... "Um... somewhere..." and they say "Are you at a plant store again???" To which I say "Shut up, I have to go."

They know you too well!

I went to Lowes for a new male hose adapter and some hose rings today. Picked up some hose washers as well.

And brought home 4 more plants priced from 1 - 3 $. A Delphinium and a Foxglove needed a bit of mending/staking but both should bloom again and after cleaning up are near perfect.

So far in the past 2 weeks I have brought home ~ 1 dozen plants from Lowes. Highest price was 5 $. All are in my North side of house protected area where I have a "holding area". Right now it is too fraking hot to plant em. 104 today.

They have Japanese Maples for 75 % off so when I got home I spent 15 minutes finding an appropriate spot.



Tomorrow back for a 10 or 15 Japanese Maple

I went to Lowe's today for a new B & D cordless weed wacker. My paths are so overgrown they are hard to find now.

Of course, I went to the garden department first to see what was new, then proceeded to the back to the distressed racks. Saw some great plants. Went and got the wacker, and when I returned the rudbeckias were gone and several of the coneflowers were gone. 1 gal coneflowers of the Cheyenne series were $3.00. I loaded what they had into the cart. Got a 12 pack of purple salvias for 50 cents each. 3 gal pentas for $2.00 each. A 9 pack of begonias for $3.00. Then the guy in the vest brought more coneflowers. Yea!!! I got 5, various colors.

I haven't been to the grocery store in 3 months and that was my next stop. Since I didn't have much more room in the car, I got the dog and bird food and only 2 bags of groceries.

I know what my priorities are........do you?
